He is towing the party line - as any main employee must. He is a good choice and fisher and Waggot have done their homework. Many managers would walk or use the situation as an excuse. He fronts up in an intelligent and articulate way - but he is on the same page as fisher and I believe for many fans that will become an Achillis for him.

Pressley knew what he was signing up for and has worked with unpopular chairmen before IIRC.

It's going to come down to results on the pitch. Struggle for goals, especially from midfield, and some of "his" decisions will be questioned. No -10 points this season, so in many people's eyes no excuses.

Personally I like the guy and think he's as good as we're going to get and a good fit for where our club is financially and in terms of the plan for the future on the pitch. I'd keep him around.

You may possess honesty and integrity but how do you know your "sources" possess these same qualities? Seems to me they're feeding you a line and you're taking it.

Football is all about opinion and my opinion may be different to yours but perhaps you need to take a more open and balanced view.

I hope you enjoy the forthcoming season as much as I intend to!

If there is any feeding going on its RFC feeding his own delusions. Hes not being told anything and he doesn't know anyone. I doubt he's been out of his bedroom in months.

If we're in a relegation battle after Xmas I wouldn't be surprised if SISU sacked him so TF can say SP got it wrong. Nothing to do with the shit anti success environment created by TF & JS off course.

My view is that the club have employed a great asset in SP we thought we had 1 in robins but he couldn't deal with the behind the scenes panto
I really feel that there would be an enormous shift in this clubs fortunes if the Ricoh deal could be struck the positivity around the fan base would transfer onto the pitch and I honestly believe that SP would maximise this impact for me he is doing a great job mediating the gap between fans and club so of course he's towing the party line but let's hope it's for the greater good

There seemed to be a simmering resentment against him at the phone in tonight. He seems to be in danger of being lumped in with Sepella fisher etc. and be held accountable for off field woes.

Unfair in my view. He is the perfect choice in this most adverse of situations - upbeat, single minded and focused. We should appreciate he is here - worrying times.

He is in a nightmare position where your bosses have made ridiculous decisions that have affected your ability to do your job.

Decisions that have very possibly hurt themselves more than the people they were attempting to put out of business.

If he comes out and says this its job over.

The best he can do is say a return the Ricoh is vital for the future of the club. The ability to attract players is massively affected by the Ricoh etc etc..Which he did fair play to him.

He also took a bit of flack tonight regarding his signings last season. I think regarding that he should be judged on his signings this season last season was the usual car crash where the manager doesn't stand a chance.

I think he squirms a bit when asked about things like the new stadium, he has to tow the party line but you can hear his discomfort. Thought the criticism tonight though was of him personally and he handled it OK.

Definitely he took a big sigh before answering the new stadium bit. However to me his real thoughts were the same of all of us.
The Ricoh is the only deal that will be happening

Perhaps he actually communicates with his bosses and believes their honesty and financial commitment?

You obviously know the truth and far more than me!

RFC I suggest you listen again. Listen to the pause when SP is asked about the new stadium.

Also listen to the way he says 'yes I believe that is the plan even if we moved back to the Ricoh. '

Then listen to him when he talks about something he genuinely believes in such as Jordan Clarke playing wing back.

You will notice a distinct difference in SP's voice and the way in which he uses pauses.

I would hazard a guess that if someone there was paying particular attention you would also have seen a difference in his body language when answering these two questions.

Only SP knows what he truly thinks. Even his boss wouldn't know that.
Have you ever had to go along with something your boss does that you would do differently?

Lets hope his bosses get on with doing the main deal ASAP.

Getting back to purchasing ACL.

I don't see any need in calling you an idiot or similar. You do a very good job of making that fact very clear to everyone.
