"We're dissapointed of course because these are the games we have to win," the City manager said.
"It was a fiercely contested League One game but the attitude of the players was terrific today - there was a real will to win, but one fundamental error cost us.
"I stood here last week and I was dissapointed with the players' attitudes after the defeat to Worcester, but our reaction was terrfic in midweek and our attitude today was terrific as well.
"We were the dominant team in the second-half and playing with great desire and purpose, but there is no doubt about it these are the types of games we cannot lose.
"When you're on top your concentration is vitally important, one of our players made the wrong choice at that moment then we lose a game we should have at least drawn but probably deserved to win."
The Sky Blues were also denied a penalty when Gary Madine was bundled to the ground in the area by Haydn Hollis, but the referee waved away City's protests.
The manager was adamant that Madine should have been awarded a penalty after watching the footage again and was dissapointed the decision wasn't given.
Pressley added: "I don't want to make excuses but it was a stonewall penalty.
"Obviously I need to be careful with what I say, but watching the footage after the game there is not even an inch of doubt it's a penalty, the reaction of their players says it all.
"I spoke to the referee on the pitch after the game and said I was dissapointed, it was undoubtedly a penalty and a moment where we worked extremely hard in the game and the least we deserved.
"I have no complaints with the players, we can create more opportunities with our final pass and final moment, but we have to be ready to work hard again this week ahead of the Colchester game."
