Given the amount of managers Chelsea and United are going through, some very highly regarded, doesn't it ever dawn on the powers that be at those clubs that the root of their problems may lay elsewhere?

Going to be a lot of managers available after euros as well, hopefully Southgate is one.

Hopefully he’s not because that will mean we’ve won.

Agreed. Bellingham looks like he could drag us there on his own though.

He has the players to do it but I don’t think he has the ability to manage them to it.

Need Foden to have a storming tournament, as well as Bellingham.

Kane will always score goals.

I know our defence isn't all that, but I am quite encouraged by the fact that Eric Dier has apparently been doing very well in the German Bundesliga.

I think he will leave regardless.

If we do crap he'll be gone, if we win it then he'll leave on a high.

Dier has indeed done well this season but hasn't been picked.

Has he not? I saw him on a list. Thought it was THE list, so just have been on a predicted one then.

That's a shame.

Surely it would have made perfect sense to pick a defender who is playing well IN Europe, for a European competition.

It’s because of that notorious Southgate bias where he’s always picking the same players like Kalvin Phillips Jordan Henderson Mason Mount Raheem Sterling Jarell Quansah

Am i alone in hoping that Kieran McKenna stays at Ipswich to finish the job? I am not a fan of a manager getting promotion, sometimes against the odds, then getting snapped up by a club in the division they have been promoted to, when they really don't have a great track record in that division, or the club are probably no "bigger" than the one they leave.

Ipswich are on the rise, Brighton are mid-table mediocrity at best (probably punching above their weight, like Brentford), Chelsea are still a basket case of a football club, and he wouldn't last beyond a season with them, if that.

He needs to look at Kompany he stayed and they came straight back down.

Think he’d be a good fit at Brighton myself. It’s all about his ambition at the end of the day - if he wants to be a top manager/head coach, he needs to take those opportunities when they come.

Kompany managing Burnley to a, for the most part, gutless relegation, with his incompetence set to be rewarded with an even better job at Bayern. It's actually comforting to see that some aspects of the workplace are universal!

Weren’t Brighton playing in one of the European competitions this season?

They’re a decent side and would be a choice job for him for him to take them further forward. Where do you expect Ipswich to rise to exactly? Without serious investment they’ll be straight back down.

Not going to play him though is he.

Often international managers will just call a player up to be part of the squad and get a feeling for it all, without ever having any intention of playing them

If Dier is doing really well in Germany and it's our defence we are worried about the most, it would seemed to have made perfect sense to pick an experienced player who is playing really well.

Phil Brown was on the radio this morning talking about the managerial merry-go-round (or misery-go-round, as he referred to it!). He said when he got 'Ull up to the Prem, they stayed up and Boro were relegated. Brown was reflecting on the different paths careers can take - he is now managing Kidderminster Harriers, but Boro's manager has done better - Southgate!!
Mind you, Brown's style of football has always been dreadful, so not surprising, perhaps!

He was in massive trouble once we got back to 3-3, I hope Man City destroy them tomorrow and one of the players runs up to Antony at the final whistle.

And to be clear, losing 4-3 to a Championship team when you're 3-0 up with not much of the game left to play would be an understandably sackable offence for someone who's already under pressure.

What baffled me was he just couldn't understand why the media was criticising his team's performance and praising ours, he surely can't have thought it was a good display.

Baffling. I can honestly say, I've never seen a team crumble like Manchester Utd did against us, in my time watching football.

Surprising and interesting to see both Man Utd and Chelsea apparently in for McKenna. Any hope Ipswich have of staying up would rest with him I think

Either of them he will need time and they don’t seem to bother with that at either club

Manchester City apparently suing the PL for discrimination. Nothing like avoiding justice by creating more barriers to a case ever being heard.

If Man City somehow come out of this entire case free of charge, I think I’m about done with following any football that’s not us.

Seen today that there are several other clubs(Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea) who are willing to back them in their fight against the PL around revenue streams and revenue from third parties pumped into clubs. I’m sure King power would also love to write a blank cheque for sponsoring their own team (they already wrote off hundreds of millions of debt owed to them, and broke these sponsorship rules once).

These top clubs have flirted with destroying the core of our game already, we already know there are several owners who are for abolishing relegation entirely from the PL, and now they want the freedom to pump in almost unlimited amounts of money and turn the rest of us into feeder teams and “also-rans” for them.

I imagine the European Super League will rear it's ugly head again at some point in the near future as well.
If they try it again, I reckon they should just let them go and hopefully it's a massive failure
