Players seem to have a finite shelf life at the top, I think Sterling's was a few seasons ago and is now on the back end unless he can reinvent himself as a poacher or a 10 or something.Similar to other excellent players (Owen, Rooney, Bale, Ramsey) who were playing regularly from being a teenager (Messi and Ronaldo being the exceptions), I think he's reached a sort of burnout point now. Similar to Rooney really, his achievements taken for granted and now looks to be on the wane a bit.
