Me and a couple of mates were on FIFA the other, played with Coventry on there and the players were awful! This came to the discussion of what would be the best possible team of Ex players that are still currently playing? We could've had a team worthy of premier league football for sure

Assuming you can't have current players (not that there's too many who would be in contention!) I'd go with something like this:

McGoaldrick - Juke
Subs: Wood - Cranie - Keogh - McPake - Norwood - Best
Short on a right back and a winger, could stick Wood or Cranie at right back.
