It's a forum, you can choose to post on any thread without judgment.

I don't have much to say on the footballing side, I don't see the games live & would rather not post things like "goal yea!!!, Get In!!!' and all that sort of crap.

My biggest annoyance is with SISU.

It's a Coventry City forum...There is a Wasps forum where you can just talk about that.

If you have nothing to say about Coventry City, it kind of proves my point. Plenty of people discuss CCFC and post more than "Goal yea". That shows not only do you not bother to post about CCFC, you don't read about it either.

Sorry, I find this harsh. Might have a rather different opinion to many, but I do also remember having at least the consistency to avoid the Checkatrade final too.

Many have reasons not to go up. Personally I find the pro-Wasps line a little strange, but in this instance I fear I agree with him and OSB, that there's a difference between hoping they go bust, and expecting them to (as of this moment, anyway!).

Can we get on with the (however unpalatable!) debate about why Wasps aren't necessarily rosy, and persuade peeler in the error of his ways?

In this instance yes. You're a supporter or you aren't.

You are not a Coventry City supporter. You may used to have been but you're now a franchised rugby club supporter. You may struggle to come to terms with that but it's a fact. You may be a Coventry City supporter again in the future once our parasitic owners leave but you are not now. At the worst time in the club's history you chose not to support them but to give your support to a rival.

I apologise, maybe I should have toned down my language. It must be difficult for a franchise rugby supporter to understand the passionate tribal nature of football fans.

Then on that reckoning there are only about 7-8k supporters of CCFC at the moment.

So Fred Bloggs who emigrated to Australia in 2010, but still stays up at silly hour listening to iPlayer is no longer a supporter, because he doesn't go to games.
Or young Gordon Bennett who is 6 and who's Dad has no interest in football so won't take him to the game isn't a supporter.

Nonsense, you can be a supporter without going to games, not everything or everyone in life fits nicely into your black and white vision.

I'm not sure if the apology is sincere, especially with the following statement, but I'll take it.

Do any of those only choose to bother with CCFC sites when something is said about Wasps?

There is a member on here who emigrated, he is on most football threads as he watches every game.

Emigrating is a bit different than choosing not to (and then to) and then not to again isn't it? The same as only signing up on a CCFC forum to post when people say anything about Wasps.

I didn't mention going to games did I. I said abandoning your team for another team.

That man in Australia is supporting the club with ifollow revenue. That child will be asking for kits and badgering his dad to go to games. The thousands missing are, in the majority, not taking your deluded stand point but are disillusioned with it all and decided that occasional games are better value for money.

There are ways of supporting without going to games. Choosing to completely abandon the team that is still there on your doorstep is waiving the right to call yourself a supporter.

I haven't abandoned my team, I'm here waiting and hoping that one day SISU go, then I'll be back. In the meantime, I'll follow them on CWR.

Anyway, it's been nice talking to you all today, but I've got to go, other things to do.

For the record, generally I only ever post on here when I'm at home in the afternoons, which isn't very often as I work up north.

Sorry if a repost, but this is the new planning application for Higgs:

Coventry City Council: Planning Application Details

...it includes a new indoor 3G football pitch, and I wasn't aware that was proposed until now (but then I have tried my best to avoid this thread, so apologies if it has already been discussed).

Yep I think it's part of the planning agreement to have a new indoor pitch

So why don't you help the chances of the team but getting up to the Ricoh and supporting our team? That would help give Robins some cash right?

Admittedly, I don't go anywhere near as often as I'd like but I don't live locally. Equally, I don't spend money watching parasites.

Can you guarantee the cash would go to Robins, I don't think so.

noun
noun: parasite; plural noun: parasites
1.
an organism which lives in or on another organism (its host) and benefits by deriving nutrients at the other's expense.

I think the word parasite would be more accurately applied to SISU

Presumably smaller than the existing pitch which is 60x40m.

It looks like 60 x 40 on the "Football Hall Floor Plan" which you can access via. the Planning Application link. Have you seen a different size mentioned somewhere?
I haven't been following this closely, but wasn't it the case a while back that Wasps were going to have the site, leaving CCFC only the unsatisfactory option of renting a hall for short periods when Wasps didn't want it. Now it seems more positive, because there will still be a hall and with Wasps going elsewhere CCFC will potentially have fuller access to the indoor pitch?

Gosh, you are right they are actually building a 'Football Barn' marked with a proper football pitch in the area formerly earmarked for Wasps 'Kicking barn'.
Fantastic, I just hope it is highly unsuitable for Rugby kicking practise. :emoji_blush:
* Just checked and the new proposal is 5.3m at the eaves and 12.9m at the ridge, the Wasps proposal was about the same max height but 11.75m at the eaves. :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I had an account years ago when SBT first started, which I stopped using for a while, I forgot the password, I couldn't change the password because it had an email address that was no longer in use. So I set up another account, hardly the worlds worst crime. I've only ever used one account at a time.

Nick knows all this, but still uses it to try and discredit me when he can.

I'm a sky blue fan just like you whether you like it or not, I supported them through the 70's, 80's 90's & 00's, but I will never go again until SISU are gone.

Your own comments discredit you enough and point out your hypocrisy. You won't go again, but then go when there's a bit of positivity then stop.

You say you can't go because the money isn't going to ccfc, you didn't answer the question about who pays the players wages though?

I quote one of yours here:

If you are a Coventry City fan please unfollow me. I'm no longer interested in football. #pusb #ccfc #sisuout For me it's time to move on...

You really need to find another line Nick "made up stuff"
