At no point until the last few mins did it feel like we were grinding out the win. That says a lot about how capable this team and the tactics employed are to see us right. Still missing Rudoni and Wright, but was never really a worry that we'd be struggling tonight.

Should have been the 2-0 predicted

2 midweek away wins in the last 3 weeks

Prior to the Millwall game, we had 1 midweek away win in the previous 3.5 years

The scoreline flatters them really, should have been 3 or even 4 up

What another great performance, 2-1 flattered Pompey as we should have been 3 or 4 up by the time they scored. BTA player of the match, was absolutely everywhere.

Ward is such an odd ref, he makes the completely wrong decision all the time

Handsup i was one of them. But wow what performances he's dishing up this season. Not just the goals either. Fantastic work ethic. Genuienly looks a threat every time he has the ball

If we were going to concede would rather it be when we were winning with 2 mins to go rather than going behind from 0-0.

Let’s be honest, we could have won a lot easier than that. We’ve won away at a tricky place and rested some key players. There’s not a lot to be negative about.

Well another tough test passed tonight. Got a bit nervous before the end which was avoidable, I’m sure that Lampard will be mentioning that, but deserved 3 points.
As a unit we are really impressive aswell as the individuals who are firing too. Long May it continue.

Great result at a difficult place to go. Shame about the clean sheet but will take a win there over that all day long. Excellent performances from BTA and Simms. Felt we lost our shape a little after JDS went off. Don't want to be critical though as that was a really good performance. What a team.

TBF there’s not one player who hasn’t improved, it’s brilliant, some harder games to come but we just look solid all over, bring on Watford

Mere fly in the ointment. Hope they don’t soapily batter Kitching in the showers (I know it wasn’t entirely down to him!)

Was anyone near the front? There was a bloke being an absolute knob first half, started a fight and jumped the barriers after the first goal.

Our goal difference is the same as that of the next 6 teams (in the table) combined.

Wolfenden looked like he’d played there for years, slotted straight in with kitching and thomas,

All the wins are deserved, all the points are deserved, and being top of the league is richly deserved.

But the "clean sheets" run was a bit strange IMO given how many we could easily have conceded in the last few games. This time last year every chance for the opposition seemed to be buried in the bottom corner. Lately (I'm glad to say) they are mostly poor efforts.

Almost a relief to see that defensive record come to an end and still get the 3 points.

Masterful performance at a difficult place normally. We simply nulified them and never got out of second gear. made them look very poor. Only annoyance was when Frank put on so many subs last 10 we lost all shape and paid a price. Don't do that again Frank!

Big question is now what does Lampard do, Haji back in or does he go with Simms?

Not for the part in their goal though, but he did have a good game the less said about his shot the better

I’m normally a very nervous watcher on the tv tonight I didn’t feel bothered until they scored, we were very good again and didn’t even have to use Haji

desperate for simms to score, just watched his big chance back and there’s his problem, never looks confident of scoring, but he’s putting himself about more, he’ll do
