Would love another win but would also take a draw.

not having any of this settle for a point stuff. we're top of the league and should have bags of confidence. should be going into every game looking for 3 points.

It's not people saying they want a draw or that we should play for a draw over a win is it???

The key word is settle.

Emc wasn't superb or anything yesterday but he did get 2 assists pretty much. Not sure why some trying to put him down

Once Rudoni is back I think BTA would be worth a run on the left side, he offers far more of a goal threat and assists than EMC.

And wouldn't lose his man every 5 minutes when defending.

EMC is not quite firing on all cylinders yet but he’s quality and kinda assisted 2 yesterday right?

It’s nice that we’ve got options I think.

Whilst I appreciate BTA's workmanship, he can't dribble. EMC leaves multiple defenders for dead numerous times a game

He certainly has that ability, but I cant see BTA getting dropped once Rudoni comes back, the guys been sensational so far, and deserves to keep his place (imho) So I'd say EMC's place is under the most pressure.

Be interesting if he raises his game with the competition. But its a great problem for Frank to have.

That's very fair comment.

But BTA IS firing on all cylinders at the moment. No way he gets dropped once Rudoni comes back. So does Rudoni wait for his chance? Or does he come straight back in, and if so for who?

Yeah, it’s a really nice problem to have.

Going on the basis that Torp came back in yesterday when fully fit, I’d guess that Rudoni will be straight back in.
You’re right, it does beg the question…dropping BTA would feel incredibly harsh and counter productive when he’s in the form he is.
Hmmmm…I’m glad I don’t make these decisions!

I think EMC needs a couple of games to get going on all cylinders too, when he was untouchable last season it came from coming back from injury and getting a good run of games. It's an interesting situation

Possibly, but that would break up the balance that we have down our right side with the understanding that's developed between Tats and MvE.

And there was us thinking our squad was too small !
We may not have big numbers, but we definitely have good quality options.

(In part due to the excellent form of BTA who has already beaten his goal tally for the whole of last season)

If EMC could improve his crossing and do it with some consistency he'd be a top, top player in this division. He scares the living daylights out of defenders already.

Where has all this confidence come from?

I'd call this our 2nd hardest game so far. Undefeated this month which includes being the only side to beat Middlesbrough this season then a draw at Leicester in their last 2 games.

They don't score many goals but don't let many in either. 9 for 10 against. Not even enough combined to reach our GD

Play like we know we can and we should be OK for the win. But play like yesterday and we could be in trouble. But having a solid defence with 5 clean sheets on the bounce against a side not scoring many doesn't make you fearful.

This 'take a draw' business is annoying. I know Pompey get themselves fired up, they fight hard but they are not even close to the talent we have. Over 90 minutes we should win. Every team will want the scalp of the leaders but we must make sure games like this are not one of them. Lets hope we put our 'odd' performance from yesterday behind us and back on dominant form for this one. I feel it's a similar game to Millwall....and look how we dealt with that?
We have a few tougher games (on paper) coming soon, so post another 3 points now becuase there will be a lull in results at some point before we kick on.

1-3 to City

Tats is the one I’d drop from the front four once Rudoni is back, but I think unless BTA’s form continues then him and Sakamoto will take turns in that RW role depending on our opponents.

Torp was still match fit as only out with a painful ankle. Rudoni will need time to get up to speed. This will happen as he fights to get his place back. But in reality we could be light in his position and could start him and leave him on fir as long as his legs last.

Same team. Fuck the excuses of being tired that we became used to under Robins. Subs are there again if we need.

Nervous about this but only because I can't be dealing with loads of Pompey mates messaging me like they did after last seasons trip to FP.

That said, I thought Millwall would be a tricky midweek away game and we spanked them 4-0.

I'll be happy with 3 points and another clean sheet but think it'll be a tough game.

1-0, Wright.

One of the coaches sent a message to EMC via Brandon Thomas and within about 3 minutes EMC was taking on the full back and driving into the box

Frank is going to have to manage Rudonis minutes until he gets up to speed having such a long lay off!

Because they are at home he will not set them up to be negative or the fans will get fed up and start to get restless. Frank need to exploit their weaknesses and go at them hard

Get out of there with a point and no injuries id take it now. But not sure we have anything to fear and if we play at our best we will walk away with a win.

I think the ex Forest boss identified the reason for player tiredness
