It's still very attacking with the only CMs Grimes and Torp.

Guessing Thomas Asanta will be off the right?

Decent subs bench, that... even if things don't go well, we easily have the ability to change things around quickly

I'm guessing we'll see quite a lot of long diagonals from our left / right sided centre backs to try and get in behind

BTA right and EMC left?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see MVE on the right

Probably wasn't happy at all with Saturday's performance and wants to steady the ship a bit, or maybe a few players need a rest and it's the best outcome

Didn’t expect that.

Assuming it’s going to be a 3-4-3 with the ball and a 5-4-1 without.

1:1 defending has never been a particular problem for him, his low centre of gravity means that he's generally pretty good in the tackle and against a tricky winger. His biggest weakness is getting caught blind sided and thankfully that isn't happening as much, some of it down to him and some of it tactical most probably.

Yeah never had a issue with 1 v 1 with him, just had an issue with him being in the wrong starting position to really place himself with the advantage. He is now less tucked in and is squarer to the play therefore reacts quicker to make up the ground of any cross field pass. His distancing is way better, which has to of come from the training pitch.

He was a frustrating watch last season, but fair play has held his own 1st 10 games. Still think its a position we can improve on and hope we will in Jan.

Imagine driving down into Pompey and leaving your ticket at home. Prick.

Might need a spare if anyone knows of one?!

My wife won't answer the phone to take me a pic of the QR code!

I like it 5 in defence where 4 of them love going forward. A rest for Wright unless we need him.

Tbf Simms and BTA were part of that 9-10 game winning streak last season. I think it’s a pretty strong lineup.

Playing our three centre halves when we only have three centre halves is playing with fire. Looks like he's still got last season on his mind!

He's injured. Pulled out of the 2nd Jamaica game. Can't be anything like match sharp either.

A bit worried about tonight.

I would take a draw. Hopefully, we can turn it on and bag all three points, but I do see it as a potential banana skin, so would be happy to come away with just the 1.

3 at the back is showing Pompey a lot of respect. Probably not a bad plan to be honest. Tricky fixture. Keep them quiet for an hour see where we are and send on the troops if needs be

This looks like very sensible tactics. 3 at the back to work together against a Pompey side that always has that rush of blood at home. We nulify that first half, maybe get the lead, change formation back again with Wright on 60 minutes, and run out comfortable winners.
Clearly Frank wants to supress Pompey and frustrate them into submission first.
