Exactly. They took it in turns to take bright out.

Smash the little prick up, he bullied grimmer.

Basic football. The same as scoring a one on one.

Haven’t seen any of today.

But general ‘gamesmanship’ & ‘naivety’ has been an issue for CCFC for years!

We had a spell last season where Doyle I think was leading us to be irritating sods with other clubs but that was for a short spell.

Such a shame as it is part of football and a clubs armoury now that we lack!

We ought to know from experience that Lamerias doesn't play well if given the heavy treatment so someone should've been told to make sure Lamerias 'knows you're there'.

As much as I don't want a team of cloggers it does feel we're being just a bit too nice at times. But if we change it you can guarantee it'll be the one week we get a ref with the balls to send someone off.

Bright got taken out about 3 times. Our players just stood and watched him.

Nobody went to tell their player, nobody helped him up or backed him up.

No bottle.

Promotion wasn’t on my cards at the start of the season before a ball was kicked. Why would it have? We won promotion from League 2 from finishing 6th and we sold McNulty.

After the 5 win run we were close to the playoffs but I knew we wouldn’t keep it up so no it wasn’t on the cards at all.
We also signed alot of players. Many who did well in league 1 before

Stop making excuses

Why didn't we smash lameiras? They targeted our players.

We let him run and do what he wanted.

Spineless. Just go through him early on

Mason bottled it every time.

I can’t be bothered to read all the way through this thread. After a defeat there is the usual negative comments, particularly about Robins. I just wanted to say that, despite the defeat, I enjoyed today’s game. I think some people simply judge the team by the result. If we lose we were crap. If we win we were great. Well we haven’t won for three games. At Scunthorpe I thought we were poor and deservedly lost. Last week we played well and deserved to win. This week I felt we played some excellent football and again deserved to win. There were large parts of the first half where we totally outplayed Argylle. We could and should have been at least two or three goals up but a mixture of bad luck and bad finishing scuppered that. We are so close to being a very good side in this league. I have been sceptical of the idea that we can build this season in preparation for next. No Thomas, Stirling, and possibly no Burge,Willis and Davis would seem that despite longer contracts and a more setitled squad, the summer might see a major rebuild, rather than some fine tuning. However, today there was no Sterling and no Willis and Thomas, by his standards, had a quiet game. Despite this I felt we played our best football of the season on occasions. We were slick and quick and were carving Argyle open with ease. Perhaps it can be a fine tune in the summer after all.In reality, all this team has needed, has been a consistent goal scorer. Had we had one we would be comfortably in the play off positions.
This was my first trip to Argyle and I have to say I was impressed. When their new stand is finished they will have an impressive stadium. Shame it will be only 18k capacity as a good team in a city of this size with the surrounding catchment area would surely sell that out regularly in the championship or above. The game itself was a great advert for third division football, both in the quality of the play ( yes, we lost, but it was a good exciting game), and in the size of the crowd, which seemed a near sell out. I was also impressed with the Plymouth support. Considering this has been a poor season for them, their fans support was great, really noisy and enthusiastic. Plymouth, despite being outplayed for long periods, look much too good to go down.I always liked Lameires when he was here. He did get snuffed out of games too easily, but today he really showed his quality and the Argyle fans seem to love him.
I still hope we can go on another run to give us a chance of the playoffs. However, unless the forward(s) that Robins is bringing in has/ have dynamite in his/their boots it looks like we will miss out for this season.

Just got home after a few stops on the way home. For anyone who wants to know;

Same old city really, we outplayed them for the majority of the game and clutched defeat from the jaws of victory. Should of been out of sight at half time and because we weren’t it was Plymouth who came out second half with more purpose as you expect but they are a poor outfit. Rightly near the bottom.

Chaplin had a great free kick and we deserved the lead then 2 goals in 10 minutes killed us. Awful defending and shambolic. Crap goals and set pieces again. We are so light weight and not up for the fight it’s frightening. We clearly have talent and are a good side but we mentally lack. Wrong decisions and lack of fight.

Make no mistake Plymouth were pretty bad and we lose 3 points from no where. Massive shame and we need to stop this rot pretty quickly.
We don’t score many goals for a reason. Lack of shots and people in the box. We get in some great positions and exciting build up play but lack of goals will kill us soon.

Hugely dissapointed and heart breaking to lose to a really bad side from a winning position.

I get the frustration, but “same old city”

This place week in week out is full of how poor the players are playing and they can’t even cross a ball or pass to each other.

Keep playing like we did today and success will come, like it did last season.

Said right at the start of the season we need a proper centre forward we would be in a better position if we actually went and got one McNulty not being replaced has been a great shame we could be in top 6 if we had someone who could just finish
McNulty was replaced with Bakayoko, Hiwula and/or Chaplin just haven’t come off.

Why are we thumping free kicks long?

Fucking about at the back, give the ball away and ends up with a tame shot straight at Burge.

I wasn’t in the country so unfortunately didn’t make this game, but this made me feel like I was there. Being stood beside someone shouting for one thing one minute, then the opposite a second later

How's that the opposite? There's a difference between trying to pass across your own box and giving it away under pressure to hammering a free kick out for a goal kick for no reason under no pressure.

Totally agree our fans are usually the polar opposites on winning and losing but I probably put that to emotion of the loss.

I really worry about next season (ground aside), we seem to be slipping back into the loan reliance more and more I was hoping we have got over that but I just have a feeling that next season we will lose key players (inc loaners) and not replace. We will some of our perm players leave in jan and maybe one more loaner in but I really worry about next year. I caveat this by saying I have no inside intelligence to back this up but more gut feeling

Surely it will eventually click in front of goal ?! Great that we are creating more chances these days.../ cut out the defensive errors and keep the shooting practice up and we will be a decent team (challenging around the top of end of the league)

An ifollow match for me, as usual.

First thing: some terrific football and overall a good performance. We played really well, quite a lot. Plenty of chances created.

The first half was excellent. Hiwula was really lively and Enobakhare looked in control in the midfield. Plymouth or Shrewsbury or Wimbledon or Scunthorpe (twice, now) or whoever they were just looked out of their depth and it was (clears throat) only a matter of time until we scored. High times!

Except we've seen that again and again now. Opposition keepers play blinders, we miss by inches, Chaplin has an off-game: there's always a reason. We don't score.

So, amazement when we scored, and make no mistake, it was a brilliant free kick! I didn't necessarily share the view of Eakin and Winch that we could, or should go on to win this now, but Plymouth were so limited that I have to confess, even I wondered. What was clear was that we had to change nothing and keep them on the back foot as far as possible. Deal with Ladapo who was winning balls in the air and holding up play, make sure Carey was closed down when he surged and tricked his way forwards. Okay, so they'd be forced to come out and attack more, but still.

Robins wanted 1-0 his way though. In common with countless matches last season and this, this seems to mean a fundamental change in approach - bring off players who were giving us the forward momentum, drop back, hang on for grim death. Like there's no other way. So off came Hiwula, admittedly drifting towards invisibility in the second half, on came dice-roll JCH and today he was (shakes dice) a bit bothered (like, 2 or 3 out of 6). Everyone drops back, inviting Pymouth (at home!) onto us for half an hour, while we lump balls towards JCH or foul them around the penalty area.

Everyone could feel that shift coming. Commentators, fans, viewers and players. We seem to have to accept it like we accept the tides. In his interview Robins suggested our young players needed to get experience, learn not to drop back etc. But he encourages that repeatedly, game after game. He loves winning 1-0, home or away, holding desperately to a precious lead. Only it rarely works and yesterday two avoidable goals from Lameiras went in and Chaplin iced the cake by going very close twice near the end. Reminded me hugely of the opening day of the season against Scunthorpe, whom we had absolutely battered.

I worry about a relegation bid. Plenty of tough away games yet, and who is going to score enough to get us the points?

Not sure about the top end of the league. But if we score more we should be fine - right?

Both goals conceded were pathetic

We had numerous chances to clear the first and the second - well - Burge seems to flap the ball down Mason is asleep abd the shot was tame - it seemed to bobble and was nowhere near the corner. It would be good to see it behind the goal.

You do realise that there are two teams playing on the pitch

To anyone asking "Why did MR keep Chaplin on?", I'd suggest it's because CC has scored three in the last four games and MR therefore considers him our most likely goal threat.

Where have i said tgat though?

You said promotion was on the cards. I challenged it and you said ‘we’ve signed lots of players and stop making excuses’

So IT SOUNDS like you feel we should be higher as an entitlement and because we’ve signed 9 new players.

Signing a load of new players can make things harder for awhile as they need to fit into a system that works and gel as an individual player and as a team. If the new ones we signed were like Ronaldo they wouldn’t be joining us.

So we’re going to have inconsistencies
