Their home form has been as good as ours, but that red card kills it for them.

They just looked like rabbits in headlights. I don't feel like we'll be like that but i don't want to jinx it too hard.

That’s the perfect scenario but add in Campbell and Wilder to that.

Big ‘if’ if we get there, but we would have less to lose if we played Sheff Utd in the final. All pressure on them.

Exactly, like the team of 2023 ours will always be remembered as heros for how they turned around this season

Sheff Utd team will at the very best be the team that salvaged promotion that should've been automatic

Bit gutted really. Was hoping they'd help us out by doing a number on the half breeds in case we got to the final, but really wouldn't have minded Bristol going up if we couldn't make it.

It's just shit, the gap between us and the parachute teams is an even harder pill to swallow when they are so shite compared to anyone finishing in 17th or above in the prem.

They could still cause damage in terms of causing and injury or red car to key players

Even more so for those that have tickets for the away leg.

The annoying thing about that is the one thing that brought Sheffield United down to our level was their patchy form and hangover from missing out on the automatics.

Bristol City have pissed me off here because they've gone down without a whimper, almost certainly leaving Sheffield United to go into the final with a spring in their step having easily dismantled their opposition.

I can only hope that the red card serves as a lesson to our players not to do something stupid and fuck our chances as well. If we can turn up and play our game without too many wobbles then we have a fair opportunity against Sunderland I would say.

Then, we'll just have to take our chances against Sheffield United and hope for the best.

Exactly, the 4 teams to finish above us were by far and away the 4 biggest spenders this season. They all spent more than double what we did.

I beg your pardon?

Coventry City spend = £21.25m - Coventry City - Transfers 24/25
Sunderland = £11.75m - Sunderland AFC - Transfers 24/25

In the end we had a net transfer spend in - in other words we spent nothing.

Dont compare Sunderland AFC to the parachute clubs - we have no money and I'm not really sure where you thought we did have money?

Where on earth did you get the idea that we had spent twice as much as moneybags Coventry City?

Probably half of our team comes from our academy system.

Interesting b being on this board for a few days because you dont half make some wild unsubstantiated statements.

There was one yesterday about the press seemingly being all over Sunderland....yet everywhere I look we haven't been given the lickings of a dog by the press. It's all - Frank Lampard's Coventry City this and that.

Or maybe it's not. Maybe it's about time I had a bit of a rummage around and see what other unsubstantiated rubbish you are writing about Sunderland?

You've been caught out again on this board making wild unsubstantiated statements about Sunderland.

another one was about our fans seemingly slagging coventry off.

I've had a look online and can find nothing but a load of very respectful comments about Coventry City, the club, the team and its fans.

Instead of having a load of pre conceived ideas about SAFC why not check them out before you post?

There is no pressure on Sunderland. We are making up the numbers in the play offs. Coventry City are the overwhelming favourites here and you are expected to win handsomely - home and away. We're along for the ride.

Never has there been such little expectation on Sunderland.

We will hopefully make a little bit of money and God knows we could do with it.

Nice try, I’m not having that, you were top for a while and haven’t been out the top 4 all season, just because it’s us it’s now “ we’ve got no chance “ play offs don’t work like that

Interesting fact, but bubonic plague, intestinal worms and ebola were all first documented in the Sunderland area.

No offence, but there’s our fans that post on your clubs forums and it’s a bit embarrassing, when it comes to Coventry mate, Sunderland and respectful dont go together. dont Need to trawl forums to prove that,
