Willis for one. How many times did the ball come to him in acres of space and it takes him half an hour to get it under control and ultimately loses it. He is dire. We can keep on blaming the pitch for this as much as we like but the opposition week in week out don't have a problem.

Whilst your probably right the pitch is a nightmare, spoke to several who'd been on it at HT and they all said it was much worse than it looked from the stands.

Extremely bobbly and uneven with many divots, with their game plan probably suited them more!

....and the game plan of every team that comes to the Ricoh. Sorry but pitch isn't solely responsible for this rubbish.

that will fully explain why we looked good first half and fell apart 2nd half then ?

Yes, you can blame the twats who took us to Northampton for that. Over a year away, löst the groundsman, other events held etc..

If we sign my Uncle Nobby, he can flatten all those divots in no time - problem solved. Tell Tim his wages come cheap, but the bar bill might be expensive!

Willis is a CB filling in at RB, give him a break.

The state of that pitch is simply down to having to share with a Rugby Union side and we know who's fault that is. It's a shame because on Tuesday we played on a good playing surface and looked very good.

SISU's for fucking up their option to buy into ACL thus leaving the way clear for a rugby side to do so.

I really do hope that Mowbray works with Nouble this week, his play with his back to goal is dire. The ball does not stick, his touch is awful.

No it isn't. We returned from exile to the Gillingham game. The pitch had not been maintained to a high Standard and we had lost our groundsman to Leicester. This was because TF said we are building a stadium and Will Never Return to the Ricoh as tenants. The Rugby Club made a temporary repair/relay and will have it relaid in the close season. We are Not the only club to share with a Rugby club.

Before you go criticising players, you should ask yourself, what type of sand was in that bag?

The thing that frustrates me, it happens mostly with the academy lads, is when they control the ball it ends up chest hight 9/10 then they have to try and get it down, it's not the pitch because other players manage it, I'm starting to think they mean to do it because it must be hard to control a ball and it flick up in the air. Anyone else notice that ? The worst offender is Conor Thomas but Jordan Willis is hot on his heels

Because the bobbles were facing downwards first half and second half they were facing up.
Yep no Issue for either team yesterday
As regards the OP I think we have several players who are extremely adept at this
Around 3bags a week Into their bank accounts;-)

The pitch yesterday wasn't half as bad as against Bradford, that was when they tried to dribble it and had to take about 3 extra touches because of the bobbles.

You seem to be forgetting that even though we weren't playing at the Ricoh at the start of the season they had plenty of other matches booked such as Football CV and Leicester U21s so ACL should have ensured the pitch was up to scratch.

I think They did for a while, but then They let go of the groundsman. The income from other junior Teams was very little and remember They were Holding other events on the pitch. It was partly Brown for Gillingham. But, you can hardly blame Wasps or Ann Lucas for the Pitcher being like it was against Gillingham. Let's See what happens next season. How do other groundshares survived?

Absolutely right Mart, when we returned the pitch was the responsibility of ACL, at the time owned by CCC and Higgs, and it wasn't in an acceptable condition. When Wasps took over a big fuss was made of how they were solving the problem of the poor pitch by having it relaid immediately. In my opinion the new pitch is worse than the old one!

In terms of other groundshares with rugby teams I don't know. I couldn't even tell you how many share. I did see part of a Reading game, they share with London Irish, and the pitch looked terrible. I know Oxford share with London Welsh so I googled them and the first thing that came up was 'criticism of shocking Oxford United pitch'. Google also tells me Stockport have a lot of pitch problems. So I'm not too hopefully it will be any better next season.

The quality of the pitch is surely down to those that own it???
Same for both teams though on the day.

The groundsman went to work for ACL didn't he then Leicester? Was he not replaced by ACL?

I don't think anybody can blame Ann Lucas personally for the bad pitch, they can blame ACL though as they own it and should maintain it.

Does that mean he runs up and asks them what the pitch is like ? Does he work for the club ? I don't ask because I'm in the stand .

Although if Ann Lucas went out in her car 3 times over the drink drive limit and killed a kid, someone on here would no doubt say sisu drove her to it!
