Yeah could see it was intentional but can't lie it did terrify me at times! There were a couple of points were Azaz was wide open with loads of space to run into the box if they had mad a fairly simple switch. I'm guessing the reasoning is that we back Kitch and Thomas to deal with crosses so try and funnel attackers into taking that option.

We clearly fancy ourselves in the air, in both boxes. Rightly so tbf.

Grimes is rushing in to try and rob players at times which he was not doing when he had to stay back more.

Haji wasn't anywhere near as bad as 5, his defensive game was good, he skimmed the far post with one shot, had the ball at his feet in the area quite a few times resulting in a few corners and low crosses into the box, though nothing came of them. His low point was going for a shot when he had an easy pass to Rudi near the penalty spot.

Don’t remember him “skimming the post” There was on about 5 yards wide on that side

Having now seen the extended replay it was was not so near, I didn't see how wide it was because the angle I saw it from was almost perpendicular to the shot. I don't think it was 5 yards wide, more like 1 or 2. Just under 7 mins in on extended highlights.

Wright forced the turnover that led to our first goal.

Wright was awesome, some dumb fucks on here marked him down because his decisions making could of been better at times, but you could see Middlesbrough were shitting themselves every time he got the ball.
He's far better than EMC on the left wing, unfortunately we don't have a CF that's capable of linking up with him.

Wright, Rudoni and MvE are the only players capable of stepping up if we get promotion.

agree with the comments on wright fatso.

in terms of stepping up - I could see Dovin, Kitching, Thomas, Grimes, Sheaf, Saka as very decent squad players to add to 4-5 key top class additions.

Yes we need to see Saka do his turn against Van Dijk at least once

There's a world of difference between the Championship and the Premier league, Infact I may of been over ambitious saying 3 players could make the step up.

I'd still love us to go up, because the money and parachute payments could transform the club, but I really can't see us competing without a massive squad overhaul like Forrest want through.
IMHO we'd need 10 to 12 new additions at least.

But isn't it great to be in a position where we can even have this conversation.

agreed fatso but not sure how we should play it in the premier. 10-12 new players could be disastrous if that killed team spirit and then we're left with 10-12 overpaid prima donnas back on relegation to the champ. there's no easy way given the huge gap between the 2 leagues. forest somehow made it work - many others haven't.

Well that's the secret, Forest succeeded, and as you said many havn't.
Last seasons 3 promoted teams have all come straight back down, so we shouldn't follow their example.

Doug king would have to put his hand deep in his pocket if he wanted us to survive in the PL, personally I think we're a million miles away from surviving if we were lucky enough to go up, but I'd take the opportunity because the money and parachute payments could seriously transform us.
