Its been a turbulent year at Coventry City. There's been more hits than misses but on the field we have some truely special talent in 2014. And for the Sports Lounge Christmas Special, i'm hosting a little awards show to celebrate another brilliant year of sport, and one of the key awards is the Coventry City Player of the Year. I have outlined 5 nominees (most of whom are no longer here) for you to choose from. Leave a little reply saying why you chose ti vote for that player too. Voting closes Monday 22nd December

Brilliant year of sport?

Wanted to vote for Allsop. Why isn't he on the list?

I think it says much about the quality and performance of the present squad that 4 of the nominees have left the club and the 5th is a youngster who has played a handful of games.

My choice was Callum Wilson...... he had the greatest impact, provided some positive enjoyable moments, was largely consistent with his performances and gave the fans hope of something better. Sadly it was to be something better for him and to place a spotlight on what we are missing. Good luck to him.

Second choice would have been Murphy - consistent, some important stops, reliable and always gave his best

England out bottom of the group, the Ashes humiliation earlier in the year...

Andy Murray had a pretty poor year at the Major's too, Froome and cavendish injured at the TDF...

So i guess Haynes gets it by default as he is the only one left!!

I went for Baker. Not the greatest talent in the game but 110% committed to CCFC and the cause. Respected the Fans and is a really decent bloke. Wilson was a close second.

Has to be Callum doesn't It as he just about kept the Impetus going to the end of the season .

One or two others were significant contributors but didn't see It out to seasons end .

Doing it in Scotland during the referendum felt quite nice. The 3-1 win at Celtic Park later on in the year another boost for work bragging rights.

Its mainly just for the show. All the categories are voted for by fans. Plus every player nominated has got an vote so it shows people do have different opinions

i think this demonstrates exactly where we are as a club, highlighting our best players exiting and making 'good' for themselves.

whilstr i am very supportive of our youth, I am amazed that there are 5 times more votes for Haynes than Moussa

I have to say im very surprised that Haynes is in 2nd place at the moment. He's had a great start to the season but given the impact of Baker and Murphy, I would have thought they would have more votes. I can understand why Frank doesn't have many votes cus he spent most of his last few months injured or out of form, but he still made an impact when he was in form

I don't see how I can vote as I haven't seen most of them enough times and don't understand all the fuss about Haynes he is an average player in a poor team who puts in the odd good cross, this might come back and bite me but I don't see him progressing as Pressley will coach out any talent and burn him out with to many games and think he would struggle in the league above.

He has struggled recently cus Pressley is playing him in the wrong position, trying to make him the next Gareth Bale. At left back he is very difficult to handle
