Player of the Season... Jordan Clarke?? (1 Viewer)

Once again last night Jordan Clarke was immense from the sounds of things, especially after he took the armband. Proud of Jordan this season he has been moved into a unnatural position and in the most parts has done well, yes he has made a few mistakes but he is not accustomed to what is required at CB earlier on in the season especially during the Walsall game Jordan Clarke was an absolute rock in the centre of defence, he went off the boil a little after that but since coming back in at LB Jordan has been solid again.

Most of the defensive lapses have come from Danny Seaborne and Andy Webster and I would much prefer to have Willis and Clarke back at CB again.

Not a chance. I said Murphy last week, but Wilson will get it if he his 25 goals.

Wilson for me. We would already be relegated without his goals. Our bad run started when he got injured and now our confidence is shot to bits. But at least he is in amongst the goals as soon as he came back.

Clarke for most improved. I'd give it to Wilson, Murphy or Adams.

i'd give it to fleck as most attacking moves have come through him

I'd have agreed a few weeks ago but he's dropped right off. Wilson nailed on if he keeps scoring. As for Clarke, he's done well but couldn't give it to a part of one of the most leaky defences in the country. Murphy has been brilliant at times but also equally frustrating at times. Seems to have decided walkabout is a good thing this year which has cost us some goals and some points.

Can you blame Murphy from wanting to be sweeper with how crap our defence has been? Imagine how many more goals we may have conceded if he hadn't been so quick off his line.

I'd give it to Wilson, since he has been back he has proved that he doesn't need to Clarke and is still scoring. Only hope he is here next season but the problem with young, quick goal machines is that they are in demand.

better candidates out there like moussa,leon clarke,callum wilson,baker and fleck ffs, how can you nominate a defender?!!!!!

jordan clarke love in takes another twisted turn

For me, its currently in this order:
1. Moussa - Despite his inconsistency at times, he has given us genuine moments of magic throughout the season that we haven't seen in years at Cov;
2. Wilson - If he keeps scoring and playing well, he could easily step up to number 1;
3. Murphy - Had kept us from shipping 7 or 8 goals a game at times. Worked wonders with that leaky defence of his. Of course he is going to make a few errors because (a) if he didn't, he'd be playing at a higher level and (b) he's not Chris Dunn.

I am being genuine mate.

I like Jordan Clarke and his attitude has impressed me this season after initially being put into the Bomb Squad at the end of the last season, since then Jordan has worked hard in a position which hasn't been familiar to him and Jordan's performances in most games have been consistently good.

I agree he is one of our better players (not difficult).

He's right, no defender from our squad deserves players of the season, perhaps a contender for young player of the season though.

Callum Wilson should win both player and young player of the Season. Not only for what he did before injury but the way he came back. Looks like he might be the leagues top scorer and has been the one shining light of our season. Moussa has been good at times and scored a few wonder goals but Callum is the one that has shined throughout.

Until a few weeks ago, I'd have put Fleck up for the award. Murphy too. However Murphy has cost us points, just as he has saved us.

Only actual candidate over the course if the season has to be Wilson.

Even without Leon he's managing to find the net, and a lot if his goals have come from great work of his own!

Moussa's done OK in terms of goalscoring, but still not convinced by his overall game. I think Clarke has been excellent, certainly at the start of the season, he'd grown into a player instead of a kid. Yes he makes mistakes, but this is L1, he's playing out of position and is still young.

That said, Wilson has been a different class and IMO should be a shoe in. To be top goalscorer first pro season in is immense.

Should be Wilson.

The midfield are as liable for the amount as goals we've conceded as the defence, agree with Shmmeee about moussa and fleck has faded badly the last 3-4 months. Murphy's been great but made one or two howlers.

So for me, there is only 1 winner - Wilson

Jordan Clarke looks our most accomplished defender......but that's a bit like saying Buster Edwards was the most honest train robber! He's given a few goals away this season but has been better than Webster and Seaborne. Murphy and Moussa have been good but Callum Wilson has to be player of the season.
