Player bonuses (1 Viewer)

Cast your minds back to the start of the season.
Fisher whinged that despite relegation the club paid out a substantial amount in bonuses.
The bonus system was changed so that players would only benefit from success ie winning games and final league position.
Well, with the 10 point deduction, has this cost the players a significant amount of money, and could this explain last nights thrashing at Walsall?

I personally would have thought it would have had the opposite effect.

If I was a player and was told my bonus was lower because of this I would want to try harder to get more points to boost the bonus back up again.

Also, why did they do so well on Friday if this was the case?

No Bonus unless in top six IIRC.

I wonder then - if by some miracle the club finish less than 10 points outside the top 6, would the players have grounds to sue SISU for loss of earnings - based on if they hadn't entered admin they would have made the top 6 and as such have their bonuses?

I don't see why it would have resulted in a thrashing by Walsall when we'd just beaten the league's leading side with the deduction in place.

I'd suspect that Walsall's excellent form in 2013 was far more a reason.

More or less what I was hinting at.

Makes sense, I'd be pissed off if I had been doing my bit and the owners action cost the league position.

I would be asking for my bonus based on the league position if they had not cocked up

Well after watching MOD3 on BBC I learnt that players got bonuses on the position the club finishes in so it could have had an effect on the players but it could also make them want to finish as high as possible as well despite this?

Wonder if the bonuses are with the part in Adminstration or the part that isn't?
