Thanks, so there is hope that PWKH, Joy, Anne Lucas, Tim, Mark etc. might all feel compelled to turn up.

Gotta be doable to get 100,000 signatures in 12 months surely ... there is enough people passionate about us being back in Coventry, plus all family and friends to boot!

Signed the petition earlier today. I would love to be invited to answer questions from the Select Committee. Encourage everyone you know to sign. People up and down the country should realise that it could be their turn next.

Pastor Niemoller wrote, before being killed by the Nazis:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Can we have a competition on how many likes this attract?

I'm really not sure how to even start addressing this post. The director of ACL is comparing Sisu to Nazi Germany?

Wow.

Wow.

How on earth are you connecting the Niemoller quote to Sisu, because there's nothing in post 108 that does. Personally I look forward to everyone connected with this mess being grilled - don't you?

We might finally get some answers out of people rather than the bullspit we are usually fed.

100k is a big ask but when you think there were 60k at the Emirates, 30k at the Ricoh this time last year, some threads on here get into 5 figures, and the vid of half time at the Emirates - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLz-t7o_2vg - has had half a million hits, there's got to be a chance. But it comes down to people not only signing but getting family, friends, people at work and fans at other clubs to sign it too - and nagging them until they do!

Could the bloke who put the video on put a link to the petition in the description on Youtube? Seems a decent way to get word out to me.

Hi Peter, how's that retail position going?

Can you explain the relevance and context of that quote than James because frankly I can't.

Maybe you should ask your boss if the Niemoller quote is appropriate, then scoot on back to your 2 up 2 down £1m pad in Walthamstow for a quick single malt.

The net's closing, Pete.

Can't speak for PWKH (you'd have to ask the man himself) but I saw it as a comment on freedom of speech*. It sounds to me like he's happy to go before the select committee and to exercise that right, I hope all the connected parties in this mess will do the same - don't you?

*I used it in that context at university at a media ethics class to explain why it was important to give the right of reply to someone even if it was someone who had extreme views.

Sorry but why on earth would my boss (who supports Spurs) give a flying fig about what someone wrote on a message board for supporters of another club? Though I will be asking people at work to be signing the petition as well.

Also what is the net reference about? If it was a cryptic reference to the transfer deadline then why not just say that? Or do you mean the sale because if you do you're a little late, that ended on Tuesday.

Not sure if you're extremely stupid or just a bit of a prick.

That quote is about the importance of standing up to others even if you're not in danger. It's a reference to getting other clubs' supporters to sign the petition.

FFS and you go on about other posters' perceived bias!

It is a quote I have heard before and think it has a powerful message.

If you see injustice make a stand, don't be content knowing that it's not you. If you don't take action for others will people ever take action for you when you are in need.

Other then the historical context of the quote there is no comparision with anyone to anyone.

Would you like to explain?

I am looking forward to the JR hearing. So who will end up in the court room? Timothy has always seemed to slip up. Lobotomy (can't remember his real name) gets flustered at the first proper question.

And then we have Joy. And most of us know what happened the last time she tried something similar. And if you are forgetting Lemon I will just remind you what the judge said

[h=5]"Ms Seppala was the least satisfactory of all the witnesses. In making my general comments above, I said that no-one was deliberately lying. But I fear Ms Seppala has a distorted recollection of some events – particularly about what happened at the meetings in New York in January 2005 – and, with the benefit of hindsight, has introduced a "spin" (I am sorry not to be able to find a better word) which suits the Applicants' case. She is also prone to exaggerate – the Respondents would characterise it as lying, but I give her the benefit of the doubt on that – for instance her suggestion (eventually withdrawn by her) that Mr Wallace had "continually" represented to the Applicants that the RCF Banks had a strong direct claim against TXU Corp when in fact he never said that at all. She also recollects (and she may well have believed what she was saying) events which did not, as I conclude, take place (namely a conversation with Mr Wallace "in a small room" and Mr Olin reading and explaining a position paper in New York on 11 January 2005). She is, I am quite sure, an astute and effective business woman. I totally reject her description of herself as naïve. I am quite sure that she was closely involved in developments as the representative of SISU as a Committee Creditor. But she had many other business matters on her mind and when it came to producing her witness statement and giving her oral evidence, her recollection was not, I think, as accurate as she would like to make out"[/h]
So yes the net is closing. It is closing in on the truth. And we all know that it is one thing that SISU are not very good at. Or are we going to find out about this new ground in the next week.....you know......the one we were going to find out about a few months ago......the same one that is going to be on the border of Coventry and two local councils are in advanced talks.......FOI act is cool :) And this time they are not after persecuting just one or two persons. They are taking on CCC and a charity. The first hasn't been scared into submission and has still tried to have talks after everything that has gone on. The second is a charity, and by law can't give in to SISU's threats.

The last time Timothy spoke was the closest to the truth he has come out with IMHO....when he said that the purpose of the JR was for the truth to come out and that was the only reason as they wouldn't be after damages. This was just after the rent free offer for this season and 100k for the next two that SISU tried to make out that hadn't been offered. Timothy was soon replaced by another mouthpiece. And not a very good one either. Forced out of the Ricoh? This part had to be dropped by Joy as the FL well know about it. And she wouldn't lie in court......would she?

So yes the net is closing. It is about time the truth was out. We don't know everything that has gone on. But we soon will. Could be very interesting.

for what it is worth I have posted the petition link on the you tube twist and shout comment page - it has over 500k hits and some good comments from fans around the world so maybe it will help.

It's very simple.

If you won't speak out in support of others then they may well not be able or willing to speak out for you.

Grendull is very good at speaking out for people that continually kick him and us in the bollocks.

The video is brilliant. Don't know how many times I've watched it but it seems to get better each time! Thx for posting the petition link. I'm starting to get the first responses from fans' groups at other clubs. Arsenal were already on board and Hull and Newcastle have now responded positively. Just needs City fans reading this to do what they can - nag family, friends etc to sign, get on the forums/message boards of other clubs, phone in/email 5Live's 606, Talksport, and anything else you can think of. Getting the petition off the ground is the hard part - once the first few thousand have signed it will take on a momentum of its own
