If he hadn't have given the ball to the opponents they wouldn't have scored. It's really quite simple.

You call it rim licking, some of us call it supporting a player through a rough patch.
We've did it with Bakayoko as well.

I'd say rim licking seems to be the way forward!

Anyone else notice bright pretend to tie his laces with the ball at his feet when faced with 2 defenders. He was lucky not to get snapped. It was funny though.

The EFL are in serious danger of jeopardising the integrity of their own competition. They must be totally bonkers to have the EGM before the end of the season, and even more so before our last home game.

The atmosphere at the Burton game was pretty toxic - imagine what it could be like 28 April against Shrewsbury. Would you be surprised if there was a pitch invasion or two, or a game abandonment. Would supporters want some “souvenirs” from the Ricoh.

Then last match at Doncaster. Imagine them needing three points for a play off place, and CCFC nothing to play for.

Or we get to play off finals, but won’t exist next season. Could be utter chaos.

EFL brainless in my opinion.

The EFL meeting during the season is Worthy of a another thread. Good points and a lot of potential huge issues.

Some of our “fans” will always shit on the last City player to have a touch before we concede, even if the opposition string together twenty passes in between

It is allowed to criticise a player you know?

It would be different if I was doing a Grendel and gunning for the same player for 2 seasons without giving any credit when it's due.

I think it's silly to blindly defend a player week in week out when they have generally been under par. Again, if they had actually strung 20 passes together afterwards my point would be a bit less relevant, but the turnover in play happened when he gave the ball away.

It's generally a minor point as we won, but in my opinion he has played fairly poorly recently and it shouldn't be a crime to mention that.

I would have dropped it 3 hours ago if people were able to accept my opinion and not be lubing up their arse for him.

Can't comment on todays game as didn't watch or listen to it - reading through this thread seems like after a shaky start we were pretty good and should've won by more.

Sounds like some bad decisions against us today but I'd happily have a few rubbish ones now in a win if we can get one like the ones vs Notts County in the play-offs later (IF we can get there).

I am starting to think this season is becoming more and more like last season. A purple patch, a bad run and some awful defeats on the way, an injury or two that've seemingly helped us find a more balanced look and seeming to find our stride in the latter part of the season. Still improvements that could be made but we seem to be slowly getting there. Still expect another poor performance somewhere a'la Yeovil but right now others will be looking over their shoulders.

It's about the ironic cheering and abuse during games.
Arse piece behaviour which is nothing but detrimental to achieving results.

Re: Bayliss I do think he's not been anywhere near as effective this season as last, but we're a division higher and he's still only 19. He has played a lot of games.

I do think some people are overly defensive of him, possibly due to the fact he's 'one of our own' and he is good to watch when what he tries works out. But for every time it has he's probably run down a dead end and been dispossessed 3 or 4 times.

He's got the potential to be a player above this level in his prime and time to become more consistent and learn when he needs to keep it simple.

Bayliss takes chances as he tries to travel with the ball, players like Kelly play simple short passes most of the time so rarely gives it away.

Agree, I’m still drooling of the pass should have been an assist of the season(perfection) for Thomas vs Burton when hit the post.

If that was Glen Hoddle folks would have been drooling about the vision and weight of pass. Perfection.

Just got back. Didn't think we played that well this afternoon, but well enough to beat a very mediocre Peterborough side, and even then we were hanging on at the end. Peterborough did their best to help us score, and in all that added time, we somehow managed to return the favour. I've just looked through the thread, and I know you all watch these games on ifollow, but I don't understand the criticism of Bayliss. He played alright today. He wasn't great, but so what? We aren't Real Madrid and he isn't Gareth Bale - yet. I think some people forget which division we are in.

I don’t think anyone minds criticism when it’s warranted, and particularly if it’s balanced, and perhaps constructive. Some of the comments after the Burton game were totally over the top. I’m a supporter of Burge, as I am every player in a Sky Blue shirt, it doesn’t mean I don’t recognise when mistakes are made, or when players just aren’t up to what we need. Pleased that Burge and Bakayoko are getting some credit for good performances.

Agreed. We did enough which is great, but to think we have drastically changed tactics or performances since our lean spell isn’t right.

The season is a marathon and MR is keeping us still in the mix towards the end of it. Hats off to him !!

Before this thread goes any further, I am as excited as anyone by the prospect of the playoffs, but can we please try and not have a catastrophic meltdown if we are to lose a few games before the end of the season. We have five of the toughest games still to play and I don't really fancy reading about the 'spineless cowards' or how 'Robins has to go' when we've done incredibly well to be in the position we are in. Let's roll with it, enjoy it, and with a little luck we may get to enjoy ourselves Mid-May, but let's not become too expectant.

I'm afraid that's inevitable now, dont forget the abuse that Chaplin will get for missing all those chances earlier in the season.

A great result today and fantastic how the results went our way. Credit to the players and Robin's in keeping their concentration on the pitch and giving us something to cheer for up till the end of the season.

Top top second half. Tore Peterborough apart and 2-1 flatters them. Thought it a best 45mins this season. If the ref had given the pen or the disallowed goal or even sent their keeper off I think we would have scored a couple more. V poor ref performance

I have to say that's the worst officiating I've seen all season. How there goalkeeper has not been sent off I will never know he made no attempt to go for the ball when he took Luke Thomas out.
Absolutely disgraceful challenge. I've seen the disallowed goal, yet again nothing wrong with it. The goal should have stood.
Just hope the the referees assessor in the stand takes him to task over that performance.
He should be ashamed of himself.

Well, a lot of our supporters can’t really distinguish between a bad game and a bad player.

We could easily drag up the threads about Sterling, Hiwula, Bakayoko, Robins and Chaplin. Even a few negative comments about Bright too.

As I said, he's popular because he tries things and when they come off they're great - like Thomas and Bright. Just at the moment it's probably more likely to not come off than it is and as he gets more experience he'll learn when he should try it and when he shouldn't. Playing the ball sideways from time to time to keep possession rather than trying to pass through the eye of a needle or run with it and get the ball taken off him.

Obviously we don't want him to become another Stephen Hughes or Clingan but he does need to learn when to do it and when not.
