Word on Twitter that Peterboro have also made a move for Barton and are now favourites to sign him.

Its only paper talk apparently barton was at the game yesterday for a bit so deal should be done on monday hopefully

Always expecting something like this to happen when you read that a player has had a medical but they're "looking to wrap up the deal by the end of the weekend".

Why would that even be announced? Surely it just invites outside interest.

Surprising he didn't hi-jack the Brown deal, seeing as he can have the pick of the Man U youngsters on loan. Unless Brown's shite...good job he's been a rock in our preseason games, otherwise I'd have my suspicions. Oh, wait.. :(

Oh well. Be honest people only want him because we're short on midfielders. We'll probably sign him and he'll probably get injured.

This came out on Thurs evening that Posh might be in the race but during this time Barton was at Ryton. Ferguson is his old boss and is bit of a stupid story.

Barton was at the game yesterday so deal will be wrapped up.

How can Peterborough afford more when they only averaged just over 9000 gates last season and we have made more from player sales this close season.

Maybe because they get about £4m more in PL, money, sponsorship and tv rights for being in the championship and they don't have to pay £1.2m rent?

Getting 6000 more on the gate at an average of £15 (balance of season tickets, adults, concessions) is only about £2m
