People who say we have never been interested in the JPT before now... (1 Viewer)

So many keep moaning and saying "We have never been interested before" as a reason for why the JPT is so rubbish. Why would people be interested if we haven't been in it before?

However, how many are interested in the Europa league and how many would go up to the ricoh and watch that?

I know I don't think I have watched a Europa league game and couldn't care about it but soon would if we were in it.

If we were in a pre season 6 a side tournament I would still want them to win it :)

I cannot say I am hugely interested in it. I was never interested in the Simod Cup, the Texeco Cup and I would not have been interested in the Watney Cup either. Still if you are a relatively young fan I do understand the appeal.

As a cup it really is a strange concept but still if it gets people enthusiastic it has done its job.

Even I have got a ticket now.

Shame the club get little credit for setting the price consistently low.

We haven't cared about it before because in is a competition for League One and Two clubs and because we've not been a League One or Two club before we haven't been able to enter before.

Don't quite understand the tinpot cup stuff to be honest. The further adrift we find ourselves from the top 2 leagues the less likelihood of us doing anything in any of the other domestic competitions.

We are a League One club and this is a cup for our league. End of.

the JPT was the beginning of the Southampton revival (my uncle is a Saint, he likes to point this out when he hears people scoffing at the SBA getting behind the team!)

I've obviously missed the moaning as only seen positive stuff. I wasn't overly excited in the early rounds bit s we get closer to wembley it'd hard not to be thrilled at the prospect of winning the competition and it could be some time before we see it again.

It is still only the tinpot. But if we win the tinpot we will have had a great day out and it will be ours for a year.

It's like the fans are divided and we should be a bloody family, the ones who go every home game in league 1 and championship for last 2 years seem to consider themselves city fans, and now "there all coming back" it's like there not allowed to? Takes the piss, get over it, we're all skyblue

I'm well excited this cup has got me excited about Coventry again, watching the game against Preston really made me over the moon and was one of the best games at the Ricoh. Now if we go to wembley I will be like pig in shit!! The cov vs Crewe game is over a week away and look at the buzz it's creating the excitement is unbearable!!

I've never cared about the JPT before. When the email came through saying 'Join us in the JPT', my first thought was 'oh no, that's how low we've sunk'.

Went to the Burton game with my stepson and enjoyed it, even if the football was a tad crappy.

Been to every home round since (barring the Preston one cos of being called for a knee op the day before :( ) and am loving it :)

I don't care it's a tin pot trophy, the feeling at Cov just from having a good cup run is fantastic!

For me, it's just another game of football game to watch for the team I support, that alone makes me want to go...

I was talking to someone at work this morning. They have an allotment next to this bloke (stay with me here) who has been a "lifelong" season ticket holder. He gave up his ticket last year as we were relegated and he wasn't going while SISU were here, etc. Now he has apparently tried to get a ticket for the JPT and can't get one! Now he's moaning at the unfairness of not being able to get a ticket as he "used" to be a season ticket. Tough luck, mate.

Oh, a 'boycotter'? Why would he want to go to the JPT Regional Final if SISU are here?

Proves how it isn't about SISU alone, it is people who CBA but say the are 'boycotting'!

How many away games has he gone to this season?

I have a good friend who is a ST holder at Bristol Rovers...................they got to a final in 2007 against Donny, it was in Cardiff's millennium stadium and they managed to take 43,000 fans. He said it was an incredible day out !
