I don't know the people behind the Empire I so may be wrong in regards to the way they work, but most venues make their money by the hiring of the venue and bar takings. It's normally the promoter independent of the venue who will pay the fee to the artist and a smaller fee to the venue. So basically CCC thought they could do all this.For any other local promoter, say Empire, putting on a gig is completely at their own risk. For Wasps, don't worry, the council will underwrite any losses for you. It stinks.
