What numpties decide this kind of pandering to footballers?
I thought they only played football and keep fit? They are so hard done by. ;)

yep two things to look forward to - competing (in the loosest sense) in another knockout competition, and no more breaks for international...perhaps league one won't be too bad after all....

I dont like the international break. Ig only helps the big namw clubs out, not the lower leagues inc Championship.

I am looking forward to the Johnsons Paint Trophy next season though, and obviously wont need to worry about my hatred for the international breaks :)

It's not really pandering to players though is it? The reason there aren't any Premership/Championship games is because they'd be without players who are playing in internationals.

Agree though that the international break is dull, but it's necessary, or you'd have farcical games where sides are playing their second string because they've got so few players.

I hate the international break to, maybe they should play international games midweek only so teams are going 2 weeks without playing a match.

they've been discussing it all at the football governance conference at Chelsea this week, but it sounds like they want to stick to double headers, but more saturday games ,and why you ask ,they think they'll be able to sell the TV rights for more, vultures all of them, apparently the big euro clubs and prem don't like .wonder how long it will be before the prem and top euro leagues go inter continental,Fifa -eufa beware

My comments were with tongue in cheek guys but seriously we are pandering! It's bloody football over 90 minutes for god sake. Play mid week and leave our leagues alone.

Still watching England is akin to the City.....a perpetual reminder of how dismal we can be. 2 nil up cruising and what do we do? Throw it away with an abject display second half. They are rubbish. Full of pandered millionaires with a sense of entitlement. I blame the authorities and clubs for raising their ridiculous pay and value. I doubt we will get any better until that becomes a little more grounded.
Rooney earns some £20m a yaer from football and he goes and gets himself sent off. Shite for brains. 20 million?!
Watching the rugby I think I could be an ex football fan soon.......

You're on my favourite subject ie the lunatic wages we pay our footballers to play 90 minutes per week and the ridiculous pampering they get really beggars belief.

I remember managing a Sunday Premier League team in the mid-70's and due to the bad winter weather created a backlog of matches such that we had to play the last five games on five consecutive days and that's after a full days work !!!

I just cannot see how these "wages" have spiralled so totally out of control so quickly resulting in a fair few players becoming millionaires after just four matches.

I am amazed that there has'nt been a national outcry about this especially with the current economic climate.

A realistic wage for a Prem footbally should be no more than £10K per week and that is still £500,000 per year !!!

I could go on
