Eccles 7? Jeez-would you like to explain? Did he actually do anything of note?
Thought he was very tidy on the ball and most good things came through him.

Great awareness to leave the ball for the overlapping full back a couple of times and in general don't think he did much wrong at all.. maybe aside from not turning to his left and playing in Tats that time he got the ball on the edge of the box.

MVE - 2. Fucking useless again. Backwards, backwards, throw in the odd pointless long throw in, backwards. Repeat.

CBA with the rest.

As every away fan has been singing for the last 2 months. “Top of the league, your’e having a laugh”
Don’t worry they probably won’t be singing it next week…

A bit harsh ...we played well...all that was missing was some luck. It happens. Luck was out and some bad finishing.

Today was better than Norwich and QPR.

On another day we win that easy. We might be half as good going forward next week and win.

Thought Haji Wright was good in every part of his game apart from finishing.

Not gonna slate the players for that today.

We looked solid. They never got a sniff.
Not sure he was great at the offside rule

MVE has been poor for a bit , hes constantly looking to go back .

We need lanpard to to rotate him with KKH when hes fit because

By no means is he the problem but he really does set the tone for this constant need to pass backwards.

Whether that’s because it’s what’s being asked of him or not is up for debate but at this point he’s just coasting and has been for a while now

KKH must be sat on the bench thinking what’s the point.

There was nothing good about Wright today other than a strong run in the first couple of minutes. He just had no interest. Lots of feeble off target attempts including the best chance of the game courtesy of Tats.
I’m trying to be patient.

I mean that's Haji full stop though. The bloke doesn't know the offside rule.

Most of the season he's looked disinterested and strolled about, where as today he actually got the ball and drove with it trying to make things happen.. he just had absolutely zero quality on the ball.
Sorry been saying it for a very long time need to get rid of Wright and take the financial hit,
How do we replace him ?
No idea but playing any of our other strikers even those on loan couldn’t be worse.
Have never ever rated his attitude .

When BTA and EMC are back it will be interesting to see who drops out of the squad.

Probably Bidwell (and have KKH be cover for both full backs) and then it's either a CB or Minny, which will make that signing look even more strange.

It will be a very stacked bench. Can Lampard use it properly?

I think there is a correlation of MVE's drop in form and his Girlfriend moving here from Holland tbh.
They spend a lot of time making daft Tiktok videos.

Trouble with Milan is that he's now shattered as Lampard has flogged him all season and not rotated with KKH or even brought him off in games for KKH to rest him this season when he had a chance first half of the season.

Not sure tiredness can still be used as an excuse. Maybe a couple of months ago, not now.

Yeah again a couple of months ago, not now, but it's because it's mve. He gets away with it because of fist pumps etc.

I'm not sure I agree with the "he thinks he's better than he is" stuff though. It's more he isn't as good as made out, he's always been positionally poor but half gets away with it because he's quick.

The KKH signing is looking odd.

Can only assume MVE was all but gone, or at least the club thought he was.

Otherwise if they knew MVE was staying then paying £4m for a backup only to barely ever play him is just a bit strange.

Rushworth 6
Van Ewijk 5.5
Woolfenden 7
Lati 7
Dasilva 6
Grimes 6
Torp 6
Eccles 7
Sakamoto 7
Esse 5.5
Wright 4

Most average with a couple of standouts.. Wright looked up for it which was nice to see given how he has been recently but my god was he arse in front of goal. Esse needs to read the game better. Trying to dribble it out of defence solo is suicidal and almost cost us.
Wright, 2 in 18. Quality.

Don't think he knows we can have 5 subs.

And this is the reason we needed a new midfielder, Eccles is just way too inconsistent ok to bring on now and then but no way should he be starting imho
