Once again was incredible. Numbers and noise.

For some reason over the past 3/4 years it has kept improving (probably due to how dull the home games were at the Ricoh, and this year due to boycotting).

Sell out again Saturday shows that the SBA are still backing the boys throughout our troubled times.

It was also great to see no protesting chants today. Singing support for the lads is what they deserve away.

Credit to Wolves too, made a racket to a level that no league 1 team reaches.

Wolves fans have praised our noise on their forum too.
Although they do point out something that does frustrate me when we take large followings... The overused 'PUSB'. We have plenty of songs, but it seems many people only join in with 'PUSB'

Bring on the Walsall. City fans together, PUSB.

Got my ticket for the Walsall game. There wont be as many at the Banks as was at Molinueaux today but it will be a great day. Wolves fans were VERY quite which surprised me. We where brilliant. Great banter with some of the other Cov fans. Proud to be a Sky Blue today

They point out the Sky Blue song because they are jealous that they do not have such an instantly recognisable song.

Tell them to mind their own business. OK maybe we need to amend the lyrics but" Tottenham or Chelsea United or anyone one", where not the original lyrics anyway. The point is that the melody is instantly recognisable as the Coventry song and we should be proud of it. Thanks to JH and JC for that.

According to the Woves forum the general consensus was that the Cov support was very quiet. They must be having a giraffe as I thought our support was immense.
The crowd baiting from the upper tiers wasn't taken in the best of spirits when we responded with our Yam Yam Yam Yam Yam Yam Yam Yam renditions.
Most Woves fans seemed to have voted Batth as their MOM which says it all as he is a central defender.
Also got the distinct impression that there may well have been a bit of crowd disorder if the score hadn't remained level at the end.

It seems as if the Wolves fans in the South Bank stand (which I guess is meant to be the singing section) think they were incredibly loud an we were quiet

The other 75% of Wolves fans seem to think the South Bank is a bit of a joke and that we were very loud

I think many teams consider their followings and support important.
Having a good support is something to be proud of.

Spreading us out along the length of the pitch neutralised the atmosphere in our end I thought, very difficult to get a decent chant going with someone that's 100 yards away.

By the time a song had reached the other end of our following it had finished

On the topic of our away support it's been incredible the last few years, I think the choice of songs is down to the main bulk of being singers corners lads being spread out around the ground there were 4 of us together around the middle area yesterday and we tried constantly to get something going but we had people around us only made noise when we scored some of them didn't even sing at all!

I have read through the Wolves forum that was posted on it and the comments are quite contradicting. They are an odd bunch. They harp on about us only having one song. Well that's out club song! Not many clubs out there have one SO THERE

Ignore them they only sang a recycled version of Southampton's song so it's not like they have anything original..

See the problem is you think that because you sat there. I sat in the corner of CET and Tesco (was it Tesco, the one along the side that's not prawn sandwiches) and could rarely hear anything from Singers Corner, yet heard the CET fans regularly.

Let's be honest, at 30% capacity the acoustics of the Ricoh did noone any favours. Should we get back I still favour closing the top half of the ground.

I agree with what you are saying, there's still a few people that say they couldn't really hear the old west terrace. But to be honest, I was in there, and I was in block 15 and the atmosphere was good. I have no interest if the other side of the ground can hear us or not.

"I had a great time at that party last night"
"No you didn't I couldn't hear anything from next door"

I was sat with the Wolves fans yesterday in the Steve Bull upper. Cov fans sounded pretty loud from where I was sat. I don't see why we should get uptight about PUSB, it is a song we should be proud of and part of our history.
The Wolves fans did slag off there own team for large periods of the game. We frustrated them with our ball retention.
It was weird not being able to celebrate when the equaliser went in, but the noise from below lifted the roof. The next few minutes was spent sitting smugly as the yam yams started to leave the ground and slate there own team.
Bring on Walsall!!

Exactly, the only time I found any part of the ground barr the corner starting any singing anything last season was against Crewe in the JPT.. Singers corner and proud.

Just noticed this game had the second highest attendance outside of the Premier League yesterday (only Forest got more) and a bigger crowd than one Premier League match (Swansea). Well done to both sets of fans for achieving that in League One.

It's all too disparate, it makes getting people singing too hard.

I'm a perfect example of the kind of fan you need to get singing. I love singing, but am socially awkward/sober enough that I won't do it on my own. I very rarely sing at the Ricoh because I'm just on the edge of CET. However if everyone was closer together I'd be more likely to sing and at away games I sing for 90 minutes.

So much more could have been done to improve the atmosphere at The Ricoh.

I was told the atmosphere in the JPT was decent at time last season like against Sheffield Utd and the Preston match. Would it be worth closing some stands completely to group the city fans closer together?

I dunno, I prefer closing the top half so you don't end up with whole empty stands. But yes, in general we need to get fans as close together as possible. I'd even go as far as no fixed seating for most matches or selling tickets from the bottom up. I'm as guilty as anyone else in wanting a bit of space and a high viewing position, but it doesn't help the atmosphere and therefore the team.

Whichever we do we should turn the unused space over to fans banners and other non-advertising stuff. Just not cardboard cutouts of people!
