Anyone else who reads a lot of other club forums cant have helped notice a new hatred from some towards us. There seems to be a number of fan bases who seem to have green eyed envy and a particular hatred towards lampard.
constant comments like
its the poorest championship in years.
cant wait for us to get battered in the Prem and Lampard to get the sack
Cov are shit and no where as good as boro or Ipswich
we are only top because weve spent millions on players 😂
Lampard is a shit manager
fat Frank
Cov are just lucky this season

there is loads more but there are certain clubs who clearly have a jealous hatred towards us namely Stoke, Shef Utd, Ipswich not to mention Leicester that was never there before except Leicester who seem obsessed with us. This seems to happened since Lampard came so is this about a hatred of Lampard and that he is doing well or is just jealousy that we as a team are top of the league. I also think that this has been reflected on the pitch with clubs out to prove a point against us because we are top its like we have a target on our backs

The whole cov are shit and not as good as boro and ipswich stuff is weird

Ok ipswich beat us twice but we beat boro twice

We are top on merit because we found ways to win football matches when other teams didnt .

The championship has never been so competitive hence why parachute teams arent strolling it but also a point that people are missing is that football is moving away from tiki taka in this country and back to number 9s with wingers and teams mixing it up going long and we seem to be benefitting

If we were in the play off positions, they would barely be commenting. Because we are top, and getting far more coverage as a result, it is sticking in the craw of opposing fans' throats. Leicester fans in particular, due to the dramatic turnaround of both teams fortunes. Shame :sneaky:..As an aside, I'm confident the Baggies are doomed, having looked at their remaining fixtures. Leicester will escape.

Fuck the lot of them! Id rather be hated by every other fan base and sit top of the league, than be liked/pitied by other clubs whilst festering in another teams ground in L2.

But youre right, its jealousy. Some of the comments ive seen repeated time and again are just ridiculous. The 2 main ones that make me laugh are:

"Coventry always use dirty tactics, if they cant win fair, they foul and cheat." Personally, I think until Onyeka arrived, one thing id never say about our squad is we're dirty. Weve always been very naive and been very soft. Its always pissed me off how week after week we get teams playing dirty, or time wasting against us, and we never seem to pull the uno reverse card and fight fire with fire.

The other one I see a lot of is "Coventry are a good team but theyll get hammered in the PL and come straight back down". So.... you mean like almost EVERY team promoted from the championship then? Like were any different to Ipswich, Burnley, Leeds, Blades..... I could go on and on of teams promoted to only come straight back down.

WBA & Leicester could go.
Current Oxford form good only 3pts behind WBA & 2pts behind Leicester.

I think a lot of clubs are envious if the truth be known. Leicester chose Van Nistelrooy when we chose Lampard. We have a decent local owner who is supporting the manager. We have a great stadium which will be much better once all the neglect under Wasps is addressed. We are doing the right things, investing in the training facilities, hiring professional successful people in management roles to lead performance, retail and operations. We have a core of players who’ve been with us for a few years, seem happy and want to do their best for the shirt. We made millions from Vic and Hamer, both players other clubs could have signed. We’ve stuck with our managers rather than doing the 3 or 4 mangers a season rubbish.

After years of being pitied, I love it. Let them be envious and bitter

The other one that makes me laugh especially at games is when they say where was our fan base when we were shit.
Its laughable as we all know no other clubs fans have been through what we have with our previous owners so of course now we are on the up and back at our home attendencies have increased. Show me a club that has gone through so much and wouldnt have been the same. Every clubs fan base increases with sucess and decreases when it doesnt. Look at the amount of empty seats at Leicester, Shef Utd and Norwich this season and yet they try to make out we are different

My Man City fan mate is a perfect example of this. I asked him how he feels about being owned by an oil rich Middle East city and everybody hating them now. His answer ...Fuck the lot of em .

We are top of the Home form table, second in the Away form table.

Consistency home and away will get you promoted out of this league.

Inconsistency in the Championship is rife every single season regardless of the perceived quality, that’s the Championship, always has been always will be.

We are top on merit by being statistically the most consistent team. That is a fact and is the be all and end all in any debate at where we are as we speak.

Lampard is the focus of most of the hate. Let’s face it we would probably want him to fail elsewhere .
The haters also miss the point that this has been a focussed build, ambition matched with financial propriety proving you CAN get out of the Championship without parachute payments or mega rich owners.

What other fans should be doing is asking why their clubs can’t follow this template instead of having shit recruitment and hiring the wrong managers.

Pure jealousy and I really don't give a toss what other clubs think about us! We're going up and that's all that matters to me!

Kind of the opposite for me, I think we are relatively well liked (or at least seem so to me online and in person) and seen lots of fans of most other clubs wishing us well.

Only the odd few Champ clubs that seem to dislike us on the whole.
Yeah i know a few people who support the big prem clubs, Utd /Liverpool etc and they've been cheering us on all year and would love us to get back up.

The argument we've been lucky is ludicrous, we've won most points at home and away, top scorers and best goal difference. We're top because we've been better than everyone else over 35 games.

Though hopefully Leicester bag 3 points next Saturday
I was watching that game deep in 2nd half pre match & thinking Rowett will get them set up to stop conceding, but can he get them scoring?

Then they ship 2!

Anything could happen and, like already said, they & WBA could drop with Oxford surviving!

I'd also say it depends on how much time people spend on football social media.

Forums tend to be a bit more sensible (it's relative), but Twitter and Facebook and places like that are absolute binfires of twattery (though it's fair to say that's not just football), and we have a good few who make us look stupid on those.

Lampard also provokes a reaction because most people had an opinion on him as a player.

tbf I hated Ipswich when they got promoted mainly out of jealousy.

Lampard factor is a big one as well, a lot of people don’t like him and want to see him fail. If Robins was still in charge, or we had a different manager we’d probably be getting a lot less ire.

I dunno why people don't like him? Always seemed one of the most likeable English football stars . Not to mention such a great player

That was a generally dislikable England squad that epitomised entitled excess for many.

And Chelsea; dirty money, excess, John Terry.

Lampard's an intelligent man, and there doesn't seem anything dislikable about him personally, but he'll be tainted by association for many.
