Not wanting to be negative, but the day they have bought 50% of our home, they will quite rightly be making the right noises to try and smooth over the negativity.

They will of course want the club to be there to make them money. I can't see why they will want to give us access to the matchday revenue we need to compete as this is the exact same money they will be looking to make from us being there.

It's just spin,

Fucking hell man, do you want us all to chip in and get you a hooker for the night?

How about lets wait and see yeah. Besides, Sisu have been here for a while now and you don't get this negative about them.

Can't wait for the thread entitled 'the negative thread.' That should be fun.

How much further can we sink into this swamp of nauseating commercial bullshit from EVERYONE involved in this saga? Please tell me it’s all just a bad dream.

“Our whole business plan and vision is about generating footfall through this fantastic facility, to have 25 weekends a year with football fans in the bar and hotel etc, etc.”
And the next sentence is …
“Our business plan is not based on the football club staying here. It helps generate financial strength around the stadium but it’s not fundamental at all.”

With double-talk as spectacular as that, Joy will be head-hunting him.

Isn't he just acknowleging the fact that Sisu keep saying they aren't staying though and they might have to go it alone without them? Can't see much wrong with that statement at all.

Put it this way, if he wrote 'Our business is based on the football club staying here' he'd be a complete laughing stock.

Basically, if Sisu leave the whole thing is fooked. Is that what we want him to say?

Sisu have constantly and consistently said they are not staying.

With the seats thing, on this page there's a preview image on the 'step inside our stadium' bit where they've superimposed 'WASPS' on the away end.

Whatever you think of the WASPS logo replacing CCFC in the seat pattern the web design & presentation is very slick & professional.. beats CCFC site hollow.

It is a pretty snazzy site, in our case I think we're stuck with that same shitty template the majority of league clubs have, although the dead links can be blamed on whoever's in charge locally.

It's all empty words, you think these thieves care about CCFC?

The football club is just viewed as another revenue stream for them.

For me it's a 50:50 partnership with wasps or a new stadium in Coventry.

I'm seriously doubting whether SISU can get the money for either.

"Put it this way, if he wrote 'Our business is based on the football club staying here' he'd be a complete laughing stock."

Otis, I suggest you read it again - that’s almost exactly what he DID say, then IMMEDIATELY contradicted himself! He’s already proving himself to be the type who will say different things to suit different audiences, and (like Fisher) presumes that nobody will notice. They are SISU Mark II if you ask me.

I’m just hoping against hope that when the 30 days are up, somebody I can respect has miraculously bought the other half of ACL on behalf of the football club. But I think it’s more likely that we are doomed to several more years of legal battles, lies and financial mumbo-jumbo.

I have read it again and don't believe he is contradicting himself. Obviously the plan is based on Coventry City staying here, but he can't come out and say that, because if tomorrow Tim Fisher comes out and again says we are leaving, that would make the whole Wasps scheme look a joke.

The council agreed the deal on the proviso that CCFC stayed and played here, but there is no accounting for what Sisu are ever going to say on the matter.

Where Wasps have cocked up I think is in not approaching CCFC before this deal was sealed. An approach should have been made prior to any deal being made.

Well we could buy the higgs share and then it would be a guaranteed we have first dibs according to council leader.

If their plan is based on us staying at the Ricoh it's a hell of a gamble seeing as the club keeps harping on about building it's own ground.

Yep. Agree.

None of us believe that they will build a new stadium. I am guessing therefore that the local council also believe that they won't build a new stadium and therefore will have to stay at the Rioch.

Seems like our owners have just 2 choices.

1. Make this new deal work and work in tandem with Wasps. Tim Fisher only on Tuesday said they were really good at building relationships, didn't he.

2. They reliquish ownership.

made me feel better anyway.

Strangely I think you have a point, we're back in Coventry after all. Sisu may have badly screwed up relations (I'm sure the JR helped) with the council but we won't be renting off the council anymore. That either means they have the chance to build a relationship up with someone new who has stated that they want to work with us, or piss off another landlord of the Ricoh.

Ex bloody actly!

The doom and gloom on here is getting laughable. 'RIP CCFC' and 'the seats will be yellow and black' and 'Wasps are going to milk us dry.'

Can we not at least wait and see what the CT discover, what Sisu say after being contacted by Wasps and see if the Trust can learn more?

Or shall we all just go and hang ourselves now?

Can't see how it can possibly be worse. People have been moaning about ACL and moaning about the council, ad infinitum. We are now rid of both and we now have a landlord who wants to work with us.

That has to be good news.

Yes, Wasps have to make it work and for them having the football club as tenant is very important. A deal will be there for negotiation.

Also if they are going to build this new fan base in the Midlands would you want to piss off 10000 to 20000 Coventry Football fans, not all but some are potential Wasps fans. I am sure you will get a good deal on a dual season ticket. If you don't they really are bonkers.

To pick up on Otis's point about contacting CCFC, that is purely because they didn't want SISU competing in the deal surely and have the upper hand in the relationship.

But SISU have missed the boat for us. It may work for us but not as well as it could have done. I also really feel for the traditional Wasp fans and don't like clubs moving away from their traditional areas.
