Opposition Forum Threads - Newport

Anyway Nick, why can't we have a cool sounding website? Rise of the Phoenix, elephants revenge or like theirs we are superior? :smuggrin:
 
Bunch of hillbillies, probably going to Funeaton as it's a bit like Newport so they'll feel safe

This thread is hilarious. I can only presume the Nuneaton comment was a joke about our stadium location being so far out of the city it might as well be on Mars...

Mind you, all this talk of coach travel has reminded me of a thread on GMK years ago. One lad got left behined by a coach in a service station after a match and compensated by having a meltdown online. If I remember, many posters were not exactly sympathetic!

Being compared to Pompey is not a bad thing ! someone remind them what league they currently play in.
 
A lad at work who knows a fair bit of the boro reckons there might be a bit of history.
Or as it's close to Merthyr may be related to that/them as apparently they were always having the ruck.

I still don't get why if they have beef with Nuneaton their fans think we would really be that bothered by it?

No they haven't they've sent us into a proper confused meltdown. I'm still not sure what's going on.

I am not sure why City fans always have to go on the offensive. The Newport fans are having a day out and want to enjoy themselves, just like some on here that thinks it great having a day/weekend out in the shithole that is Blackpool.
So is it not beyond the realms of possibility that it is actually easier to take a coach to Nuneaton town centre and find somewhere to drink than it is to do so in Coventry? Coventry isnt exactly blessed with welcoming pubs in the centre that would accommodate coaches.

We are normally very welcoming to opposition supporters both online and at games. But there always will be the occasional idiot that ruins it.

The word from their site is that Leeds are giving them 45% of gate receipts from their game next week. So they are drinking at Nuneaton to pass them a bit of money. They were both at the same level recently.

That was Gary's coaches lol! The daft c**t said he was going for a piss and decided to queue up for some grub leavening the coach waiting 20 mins. They had enough and fooked off without him and he had to scrounge a lift off another coach. Total meltdown lol!

Not sure why they'd think we'd be upset by that. Seems quite a nice thing to do.
