If you could bring one former, retired Cov player out of retirement and restore him to his former ability (while at Cov) to fit into the current squad as it is, who would you pick? For me, I'd plump for either Mifsud, McSheffrey or Magnus Hedman

Clarrie Bourton - 173 goals in 228 appearances. And only earned £8 per week.

As I started following/watching the city from our first season after relegation to division 2, Id have to say a prime Gary McSheffrey on the left of that front 3!! Hero.

I’m a big fan of George Hudson and Tommy Hutchison either would be brilliant but thinking of it there’s only on that’s Ian Gibson the ultimate number 10, a great player simply the best we’ve ever had in my time following city.

Agree with all this - Speedo was brilliant, but we need goals. I think Dion, ndlovu, huckerby or Keane would be filling their boots. (I reckon Micky Quinn would score a few as well).
Still, I'd go for Dion - goals, assists and help out defending as well!

Actually, we are all looking for a number ten who could create, pass, assist and score...bit of a leader as well...how about Gary McAllister?

The Welsh wizard Ronnie Rees could do a job on the left wing, could beat a man, send in crosses or score, all equally well.

Dion - top centre forward, top centre half (away at Leicester when we won and he scored both of our goals (and played centre half) was one of the most complete individual performances I've seen in a City shirt (it helped being sat amongst a load of p*ssed off Leicester fans)

Edit: Just remembered, he left us for Villa - so change it to Leigh Jenkinson (or Tommy Hutch!)

Dion for being consistently good followed by Hateley or Gibbo. Based on a one off game it would be John Hartson spanking Leicester at Filbert Street.

Dion Dublin or Dennis Wise. Either would guarantee promotion I believe.

Has to be Dion for me. Natural leader, talismanic forward, solid and versatile enough to play centre back. Always seemed so consistent for us too.

Ahh okay, no I missed out on that, never really got to many games until I was about 16. Only saw a handful of games each season between 2000-2007 until I could pay for myself. Must have been a sheltered child - McSheffrey was my idol growing up

Some great names here, Dublin stained his image with his defection to Villa for me. My two would be Dave Bennett or Huckerby. When either received the ball, even in their own half, the crowd would stand in anticipation of something happening. Both had the ability to glide past the opposition and immediately open play up and of cause they were both scorers in their own right.

Speedie for me! Scored goals, created goals, riled up the opposition. I think the best all round player we’ve had...or possibly Robbie Keane...or Dion.

For get off your seat moments I'd say Ndlovu.

For goalscoring, Dublin.

Dennis Mortimer, Tommy Hutchison and Mick Ferguson (one of the most under rated strikers we ever had. Set them up and scored them).

Steve Froggatt and a fit Stewart Robson and we'd win this league by a mile.
