Agreed. The new training jacket does look lovely! Had a quick look on the site but doesn't look like you can buy it?

Burnley are looking at other options currently, according to reports. They can't bid and buy everyone obviously.
For me it will come down to how teams are progressing come January. If we are top 6 our players will not be going anywhere. If we are bottom end and say Burnley top 3 or 4 then I think he goes. But then again if we are bottom end, does that make him not the player they thought he was?
TBH think we will be top 6 and so will Burnley!

I like to think it's a "top 6 squad", but there's too many unknowns for me, maybe I am a pessimist? Like is Gyokeres going to repeat last season? Or will COH be unsettled and it shows in his performances?

I think Hamer will be in the top 6 for yellow cards though.

I admire your optimism, but calling a squad that has back up options in central midfield of Jamie Allen and an 18 year old who has played about 30 minutes, centre backs of Hyam, Rose, McFadzean, an 18 year old with no Champ experience, and someone who played 1 game for a top 6 side last season, 'a top 6 squad easy' might be pushing it just a little far.

We have a handful of quality players, some steady players who can compliment them and an exceptional manager. I don't think anyone else would be looking at our squad on paper and saying 'top 6 easy', in my opinion

I think that squad could challenge for the top 6 though with a bit of luck

It’s a comfortable top half squad, too many are getting carried away, as usual. We’d need to see a huge improvement in our home form to be in with a chance.

The other worry I have is we have a poor start, and it makes any replacements harder to attract to the club.

(Yes, I know we could have a good start, but this is CCFC!)

I see what you're saying and yes there is a lot of uncertainties. However do you not think that if the stars align, i juries are ok and Doyle and Panzo recreate their previous class that we aren't a top 6 side?

If were full strength (on the assumption Adaramola signs)

Moore
Dabo Hyam Fadz Panzo Bidwell
Hamer Sheaf
OHare
Godden Gyokores

Subs - Wilson, Doyle, Rose, Kane, Adaramola, Allen, Palmer, Tavares, Walker

You'd have the likes of Kelly, Waghorn not even making a fully fit squad

Id argue that matchday squad of 20 is definitely top 6 material

It's an 18 man match day squad. Not 20.

He should be disappointed really as his next move after us should have been to a team in the top league somewhere, we was in our top six or seven players last year but not in the top two.

I honestly don't think Maatsen was very good and I'm not just saying that because he's made some comments to 'Lancashire Live' or whatever.

He has youth on his side though, so there's definitely room to progress a lot. For us though I didn't think he was anything special whatsoever.

He reminded me of Van Aanholt when we had him. tbf if he has a similar career to him, he'll have done alright.

To a degree! I was thinking though obvious promise, but... naive on occasion, clearly needed developing.

And of course neither were our player, so we won't see the best of them!

Maatsen did OK, but often flattered to deceive. Don't remember many assists from him. He was full of energy though and got better defensively as the season wore on. Certainly replaceable

He had glaring defensive holes which in a back 4 would be exposed badly. He was decent going forwards though and if Burnley play wing back system he’ll suit them very well. He seems one of those players who’ll keep progressing significantly year on year - who knows his limit.
