I think if £6m fee is true that it'll be one we come to regret.

If true, £6m would be an absolute steal for a player who is proven at this level and was arguably the mist targeted player in the league last season.
Gutted if he goes to any rival for that sort of money.
Sisu's model for running this club stinks.

Got to be a permanent CB, surely? We only have two under veteran status, and is Rose in the last year of his contract?

Feels like a shit fee, he’s worth a lot more to us than £6m. It’s probably not far off his market value though, and we don’t know what add ons are agreed for promotion, sell-on, etc.

We also don’t know what happens with the money. Ultimately we’ve spent millions on players the past 2-3 years with no money coming in.

It’s frustrating because we’ve managed to assemble a really good side, with some great players and genuinely don’t look that far away. The trouble is, do we invest more and gamble (turn down decent bids on players who will have 1 year left next summer), or be more conservative.

Ultimately, the ownership will want PL football too, and they at least need a side moving in the right direction for commercial reasons. Plus, the investment in young players they can sell for a higher price is paying off, they won’t just stop doing it.

Simplistic question... but if it is £6m & on your bike for reinvestment, then if we got £7m would £1m be freed or is it whatever the amount "we take the lot & get a European freebie that we are so astute at!"

His final product, killer instinct, whatever, can sometimes infuriate me.

But if he’s sold and not adequately replaced, let’s all sit back and watch the goals dry up - which is why I still fully stand by the idea of preferring to sell Hamer.

Or that they’re planning a swift exit. Wishful thinking

I'd always preferred selling O'Hare... assuming we'd actually allow a fair proportion of any fee for a replacement

It’s eerily similar - relegated Prem side and the same age (£4m was a lot for a Championship player back then). That’s what he is I think like McSheffrey, great player in the Championship but not good enough to make the next step up.

I’m beginning to sense the heat of anger from fans, with these figures being rumoured. We’d have every right to be angry. We also can’t be blamed for expecting no reinvestment.

Despite what people think I don't think we are under any immediate pressure to sell O'Hare, because we are in the unusual position (for us) of having several players in demand. any one of 3 or 4 could go at any time in this window for a significant sum. Burnley will know that if we sell Hamer, for instance, then they have probably missed out on O'Hare, at their price anyway. Some seem to think that if we don't sell this week we will go bust. I think there is a very high probability that if we keep all 3 of our best assets, then at least one of them will be worth considerably more by January or the end of the season.

Figure being rumoured from a conversation that blatantly didnt happen

Think logically for a second, why would a) overson know the inner workings of a transfer deal including the back and forth and b) even in the 0.0000000001% likely hood that he does know why the hell would he then tell a random person at a pre season friendly

Some people are so desperate to go boo Sisu that they will cling on to any old shit that is posted on here without actually thinking it through

There are obviously conversations happening and we are obviously haggling on a price otherwise kompany wouldn't have said what he did the other day, but let's just wait and see what happens rather than proclaiming that we are back to the dark days without any actual evidence

Based on the debt Burnley have it might not be the best idea taking instalments. If they don't go back up they could easily implode in a couple of years

If we are requesting upfront that will also reduce the fee

They are £108m in debt, they borrowed more on top of the £65m loan

They have parachute payments coming and have sold £50m worth of assets, I’m sure they’ll be fine. I’d rather be in their situation than ours

I have a feeling that we may have the last laugh on Burnley.
For MR to publicly respond to Kompany comments isn't the norm. I think we may be riding Burnley to set the market, the lad is probably eying a PL move, so we have a Fulham/Brentford/Brighton type side on the other line who will have a bid accepted at a shade above Burnley's final offer.

The thing is Brentford get mentioned, that’s who we’re following apparently. Brentford’s owner is a fan, ours are a hedge fund who’s aim is to get returns for their investors first and foremost.

They couldn’t be anymore different

Bloody hell mate, I'm glad you're not in charge of any negotiations for selling our players; I would however, happily put you in charge of negotiating for players we are trying to purchase !

If £6mill is the price, I highly doubt Burnley are haggling to pay less, it's only £2mill less than Twine. To me the fee is higher than the reported £6mill, they can surely afford that anyway to put a straight bid in.

When are we going to be the team with decent invested owners that want to progress the club?

Burnley are going to have O’Hare and Twine in their squad having shelled out £10m for them.

We could have had Twine last season for nothing and were clearly interested but we couldn’t stretch the budget so we ended up with Bright.

Niw we’re looking like losing O’Hare for a paltry fee threat won’t be reinvested anyway.

It’s all so disheartening.

We couldn't have had Twine for nothing. His fee went to a tribunal as he was under 24 and MK Dons paid £300k plus 20% sell on clause.

That makes the point even more though. We couldn’t afford £300k for an obviously quality player that the management were interested in so we got a waster and end up left behind.

When people talk about investment they mean £300k Twine and £800k Rudoni along with being able to reinvest sales.

We’re just servicing debt now.
