Record season tickets doesn't mean more money ..it just means more money up front, and guaranteed , where as if you have the same crowd numbers but less season tickets the club gets more money from people paying more on the gate ,

Shirt sales is fairly minuscule too

Comparative to last season none of the above has likely increased the club's turnover that much at all - despite the narrative that seems to come out of the club.

Without any external investment from an owner player sales is the only way the club is able to operate.

No player is bigger than the club. This is the season to sell O’Hare and Gus, I’ve loved watching both and will be gutted as a fan, but then we get the fun part where we know a signing is coming and we’ve got money to spend, and we get to hopefully watch another 3-4 exciting young players coming through.

Why do players suddenly become the new Messi when it comes to them potentially leaving?
Yes O'Hare has been huge for us and is a massive part of our style but he has flaws to his game too. He is very lightweight and his goals to chances ratio is pretty woeful.
Losing Hamer would be way worse for me as he is our best all round player

Yet no one seems that interested in Hamer - Its pretty obvious he is the one they wanted to go if one had to

No blame attached to CoH if he chooses to move on. I’m sure when he signed on a free for us he had more lucrative options, but chose to continue his development with us and subsequently earn us a (hopefully) good fee.

Can’t blame the club either if they’ve held out and negotiated well. I don’t expect a great deal of any fee to be re-invested, but if it allows us the chance to bring two more players in who we can develop in a similar vein and keep the wolves at bay in relation to loan interest payments then fair enough.

I would caveat that with, the price of everything is going up. I know it might not sound much but looking at hotel accommodation rates for all my teams for next season, quotes are up to 20-30% by and large. Gas/Elec, Food, Staff costs - hotels are passing them on. It'll be the same for transport, food supplies to Ryton etc - everything going up so those record ticket sales, shirt sales etc will likely go towards covering increasing costs.

Flaws in his game, yes. Lightweight ? He gets 20 bells kicked out of him every game, gets up for more, and yet rarely misses a game through injury. That's the opposite of lightweight in my opinion.

O’hare is a quality player, Im not surprised with all the links, I am surprised with the under and over valuation from some fans, I think around 10 million is about right but if we manage to hold out till January then it will drastically increase as I think he will start scoring in the coming season

Burnley are reportedly set to land Coventry City’s Callum O’Hare within the next week, as per Daily Mirror reporter James Nursey.
O’Hare, 24, spent last season featuring heavily for the Sky Blues.

The attacking midfielder featured in 45 Championship games, scoring five and assisting eight in the 2021/22 season.

Coming through Aston Villa’s academy, O’Hare impressed almost immediately. The Solihull-born midfielder contributed to 26 goals in 61 games for Villa’s U23.

O’Hare is still quite young and he has a lot of potential still to fill, but it appears his time at Coventry City is coming to an end.

Alan Nixon reported that the Clarets were interested in O’Hare at the start of July, and now Nursey is reporting the deal could be completed next week.

An instant impact…
Vincent Kompany will be hoping his first year as a manager in England ends with Premier League football returning to Turf Moor.

The Burnley squad currently looks revitalised ahead of the new season and their summer business so far has been nothing short of impressive.

Adding O’Hare to their ranks will only increase Burnley’s chances of an immediate top-flight return, but they mustn’t underestimate the second tier.

As things stand the Championship looks more competitive than ever with several teams gunning for the top two spots this time around.

O’Hare’s current side Coventry City finished 12th last season and they’ll be hoping to improve on that and push closer towards the top-six.

However, it appears with a deal edging closer, O’Hare feels his future is best suited under Kompany’s guidance.

The new season begins in two weeks and O’Hare could play his first game for the Clarets on July 29th against Huddersfield Town.

I wish people would stop thinking that the fee will be reinvested and it’s all part of a master plan. Let’s just all accept that his sales only purpose is to service the debt to the owners. They don’t really give a toss about the strength of the squad because if they did, they would keep hold of O’Hare for this coming season add a couple more with quality and have a real go with a side that has immense potential to do something special. SBB has been spot on with everything he has said, so I have no reason to doubt him when he says that non of the fee will be going on transfer fees, Robins will be given O’Hares wages to again produce a minor miracle with.

Yeah, people keep going on about "servicing debts" and all the handbag type stuff but in reality it's probably going to be running the club isn't it?

There'll certainly be interest to pay, which won't exactly be a small sum, but yes the monies received will primarily go towards covering operating costs and paying transfer instalments I'd imagine.

There's also the EFL loan to consider as well - albeit that isn't due until 2024.

The words you used were 'They don’t really give a toss about the strength of the squad'.

If they didn't, they wouldn't have paid money for Hamer, no?

It depends if you read social media to get wound up with things like that.

I would expect the anger to be whipped up though, it would suit some other parties to have the heat taken off them.
