It's fairly safe to say we wouldn't be able to replace the same style, it's if we could get the effectiveness.

Agree - almost certain to lose the energy, but may increase the accuracy in possession. Hopefully the team doesn't suffer, and may even improve. Que sera sera and all that.

Nobody can say for certain until we know what the fee is surely. If management budgeted/thought say 6m for ohare and we ended up getting 8m, who’s to say the difference wont be available for reinvestment. You’d hope that’s the attitude at the club anyway

It's a shame because it doesn't sound like MR is going to get any of a potential sale, but imagine if he had 2 million to spend? He could do some serious damage with that and sign at least two really top level players for the team, maybe even more. I guess we have to see what happens.

Is it not worth waiting to see what happens before losing heads over it?

If we got 7.5mill up front plus let's say, 10% sell on, i'd be quite happy with that for O Hare, but it sounds like we might be holding off for even more than that.

I've criticised O hare before for lack of end product but he's started pre season on fire with about 5 assists and i'm now scared of losing him. I'd get rid of Hamer to protect O hare and Vik for us tbh but it sounds like no one wants to put up any money for Hamer. I do think we look at him with sky blue tinted glasses on tbh

Would be crazy to sell him for that. Can't imagine we would entertain it.

Where’s the fun in that? We’ve been way too successful over the last 5 years…

From what I infer from believer posts, the outgoing wage of the player is what Robins will get, which well…isn’t much really

Surely it depends how much we get?

Obviously it does. But the caveat to that is, if no one is currently meeting the club's valuation then surpassing that seems somewhat unlikely.

That's of course assuming believer's comments regarding Robins only receiving the outgoing player's wages from a sale is based on if the club receives what they're asking for in terms of a fee.

There's no way we're getting 10 mill for an attacking midfielder who gets 3 goals a season.

Would be surprised if we got more than £8m for O’Hare. Think talk of £12m is fanciful.

We are in a strong position
Fulham offered £5m plus a huge salary and got turned down
Burnley will have to offer substantially more
Mind you COH would fit into the Burnley ethos, never say die, up and at 'em

I criticize COH but now he’s being linked to other teams I really don’t want him to go

I’d take one sale

If we sell two I’m concerned about the season ahead

If we get £7m+ I think that would be good business. I’d hope £2-3m of it would be available as well.

Burnley had already made a bid I thought, do you not have any details on how much that was?

If I was COH, I would only move to a better situation for him. Burnley isn't a step up particularly and the location is inferior to where he is now as being from Solihull. Burnley isn't exactly glamorous as someone based near Bury.
COH is very talented and I would be setting my ambitions higher. He will always get offers so no need to jump at this.

We've already sold Shippers, so if anyone else goes for a fee, that'll be two !

Wait until he rips Sunderland apart, then up the figure by £5m (then turn it down) He who blinks first loses.

Still hope it's b*ll*cks, or happens soon enough for MR to 'deal'

No guarantees of course, but Burnley far more likely to be challenging at the right end than us. Not convinced by Kompany as manager but he gives them profile.

It'd be a step up from us, and he can nip over to Gawthorpe Hall for a visit.

If it was as nearly a done deal as suggested, I'm more than a bit surprised he was involved against Wolves U23s yesterday. Why would the club risk a player on the verge of a big money move. Would seem odd to me.

If he did go I dont think there's anyone in this league or below who could replace what he does for the team. There are better players sure, but his overall contribution would be hard to find. We'd be looking abroad or prem loans

Or we just didn’t bring anyone in, that would be great and really contradict the mantra of ‘sisu will give MR the funds to adequately replace him’
