I’d be happy with that - probably get both for 5/6m SISU pocket 24m that’s a little reasonable

I think it is. But it has to be repaid by 2024 if I remember correctly.

It doesn't matter either way what the fans think a player is worth. A player is worth what someone is prepared to pay for them.

Is this the same loan Hull have paid off or a completely different one?

You'd assume it's the same one but I don't quite understand why a transfer embargo was imposed.

Perhaps they were close to breaching P&S rules and therefore under the condition of receiving the loan had an embargo issued against them.

I think it was to enable them to sign players so perhaps a different loan

Nah in the statement it says they were restricted on signing players, essentially an embargo, confusing as @KenilworthSkyBlue said

If we could get Bird & Sibley for 6 million and sold Hamer & O'Hare for a total of 18-20 million, then it could be good business, but you are taking the heartbeat out of our team in Hamer & O'Hare, and relying on Bird & Sibley to be as good. Both are young players. If Sibley takes a while to get going, we are relying on Palmer who has not played for awhile.
Would prefer we kept O'Hare. Sold Hamer for 10-12 million and signed Bird for 2-3 million.

I think everyone is going to be dissapointed if any one of our top three players go, but it is how we deal with it afterwards for me.

At the moment we are only really signing development players or players in need of a career restart. If one goes and we can sign two or three solid first team players, whilst SISU take the rest to balance their coffers, I can probably live with it.

If we sell a key asset for a high fee and replace them with just one bargain basement player then I don't think I'll be the only one annoyed.

It's the same few who from day 1 think they are crap and scoffed at thoughts they were even worth £3M....they just will never shut up. Their benchmark just always seems to change depending on direction of the wind.

Get what you’re saying about the heart beat - but Sibley has played 67 games in the championship and Bird over 100. I think they’d more than make up for it.

losing any of them is going to be a kick in the balls but it’s not like we’re replacing them with unproven players

We are replacing them with two players who have just been relegated, I would much rather go after rudoni and maybe another European Hamer replacement.

They were relegated due to a 21 point deduction, they’d have finished 15th without it.

you then quote Rudoni… who has just been relegated from the league below

In fairness they were relegated because of a points deduction, would have comfortably stayed up without it.

That is a fair point, I just don’t like the idea of losing the spine of our team and just taking the spine of another team. Who in all fairness didn’t set the league on fire.

I do trust robins and the staff to make the right decisions but it would be underwhelming for me.

I’m trying not to get too excited but I think these latest rumours could actually have legs. 15m for O’Hare we would have robbed Burnley blind.

Make him someone else’s problem.

Tbh I’m not sure we could afford Bird. Someone like Cameron Brannagan would be a realistic option, one year left on his contract at Oxford, been in League 1 TOTY for 2 of last 3 seasons.

If we got 7.5mill up front plus let's say, 10% sell on, i'd be quite happy with that for O Hare, but it sounds like we might be holding off for even more than that.

I've criticised O hare before for lack of end product but he's started pre season on fire with about 5 assists and i'm now scared of losing him. I'd get rid of Hamer to protect O hare and Vik for us tbh but it sounds like no one wants to put up any money for Hamer. I do think we look at him with sky blue tinted glasses on tbh

Without the crap they had to suffer last season Derby would have challenged the top slots last season imo I thought they were one of the better teams we played at the CBS.

I think I'd mostly be gutted about not seeing Palmer and O'Hare playing together because I think they're contrasting styles would work really well together.

But if we sell O'Hare and / or Hammer for anywhere near 10 million, can't complain too hard about it.

They had a reasonable squad to begin with and the siege mentality which Rooney instilled in them helped but they wouldn’t have been anywhere near the play offs

Story in one of the papers linking him to Fulham as well. Looks like his agent is trying to move things along.

I don't really get this logic. If the club need a sale then that in itself probably indicates he doesn't have the final say, certainly not in this scenario anyway.

Eitherway, call me an eternal optimist but I’m not particularly going to start wetting the bed if we lose a player - Some people on here seriously need to have a beer and take a chill pill

I trust Robins has been given assurances and I trust he has an adequate replacement lined up that has been green lighted by the club in the event of Callum leaving… I’ll only start panicking if Callum leaves and Robins follows him out the door

Some people on here aren’t cut out for us being a good side, because the more we progress the more we are going to attract interest in our players and the constant meltdown whenever that happens is ridiculous

  1. The word “probably” features very prominently in that article - I have no idea whether they “have to” pay that back soon or whether they are able to re-finance it - do you? £50m in cash plus a £20m debtor - I would have thought we would like to be in that position regardless of what debt we have.

As for COH we signed him on a free and if we make £x millions on him so be it. There were many times few seasons when he frustrated the hell out of me and those around me and I would imagine ME and AV felt the same.

it wasn’t that long ago that I had real concerns about whether would have a team to support at all. I know things aren’t perfect but I trust MR more than I have done any other manager for a very long time.

Hard to see why the financers would call the debt in now and risk the other third of it, when they've got a fair chance of getting the lot back.

It’s pretty inevitable we’ll lose one of the three.

As long as we get a decent fee then I have no issue with it.

Obviously no one wants to lose their best players but Robins has clearly worked incredibly well on a shoestring and could do some real damage with some money to spend.

Hamer was £1.5m, Gyokeres £1m and Sheaf £750k. All great players signed for relatively little.

If we sell O’Hare what’s to say we can’t go and spend the money on three players like the above?

From what I infer from believer posts, the outgoing wage of the player is what Robins will get, which well…isn’t much really

Much better idea, why don’t you not infer anything - See what happens and then make your mind up at the end of the transfer window

It will save you a lot of stress in the long run

I think we'd need a replacement , cal offers something that not many clubs have , and that's the ability to press for 90/100/120 minutes if required across the front line and midfield .. add the technical ability it's a big loss if he goes

It's fairly safe to say we wouldn't be able to replace the same style, it's if we could get the effectiveness.

Nobody can say for certain until we know what the fee is surely. If management budgeted/thought say 6m for ohare and we ended up getting 8m, who’s to say the difference wont be available for reinvestment. You’d hope that’s the attitude at the club anyway
