It's brilliant but whisper: it's still very early days.

Remember 1983 home against Liverpool, Gibson hat trick before HT, finished 4-0 and Fagan tipped us for the title. We finished 19th and avoided relegation by one place!

Are you this pessimistic in real life or just on here?

Not even thinking about the table until at least Jan/Feb time as it’s still very hollow. Nice to look at but two bad weeks and it’s totally different.

Agree, very early days.
I don't expect the goal glut to continue at the levels it is currently but the perfirmance levels, clean sheets, work ethic and the fitness levels give me real hope that we can keep ourselves in and around the business end of the table all season.

3 of the top 5 goal scorers. 2 of the top 5 assists. Top clean sheets. Top of the league.
Also :
-ranked #1 on the xg table with 22.4 xg (next best Southampton on 15.5 xg)
-ranked #2 on the xga table with 7.5 xga (best Middlesboro on 7.2 xga )

...in fact we're currently slightly underperforming, which is crazy (-2 points).

One day at a time. Right now we’ve got two weeks of loading up the championship table to see us top. I’ll take that for now.

This train doesn't seem to be stopping.

I really think we can carry this on.
It feels different this season. Just looking at the determination of the players, they are hungry for it. The management team are hungry for it. The owner is hungry for it. We are winning games we would have drawn or lost in the past. Not just scraping wins either, but blowing teams out of the water

It'll come down to luck with injuries and whether we have the depth in the winter months.
The January transfer window can’t come round soon enough.

I reckon so far we might’ve been a little lucky with our fixture list and how the international break has fallen just in time that some of our players can recover. Our luck will run out at some point.

I believed for years that he'd wanted to go. It was just recently that I heard that he and Strachan had agreed to a new contract only for the board to sell him!
Yeah me too! I think I heard it on here. Disastrous decision.

Given your name on here…for a long time I maintained that Speedie was the best player we’ve had in my time but Dublin was possibly better. Not that we need to get into that debate for the millionth time. Both v good and different players.

Big fan of both obviously!

I wonder if he'll move MVE on to raise funds. It would be a great shame with the way he's playing but he might just be tempted to "let it ride on lucky seven" if we're still up there
I can’t see it…at least I’d hope not!
If we’re still in with a shout I think it would take some ridiculous bids to shift our top players in January…of which I’d say MVE is definitely one. Retaining MVE is some of the best business we did in the summer I’d say.

If we’re there or thereabouts in January I’d expect King to go all in on a promotion push. Nobody leaves, a few more join and if we don’t make it then sell a fair few in the summer.

Very true! The parachutes will probably have more money Jan though

They will. Leicester will be desperate for a striker, and it could define their season if they get the right player in.
Though their court case is due to start shortly, (though not sure when it will be concluded), hopefully a points deduction incoming

It'll all come down to cashflow I expect. The way I see it, it was very telling in the summer that we didn't/couldn't get another centre half until somebody, Sheaf in the end, moved on. If the funds were there surely we'd have brought someone in earlier in the summer.
