I’ve got to agree here, Clive, Stuart and Oggy are streets ahead of some of the other local commentaries. As we were playing Sunday, I went onto my TV box that has all of the Football League iFollows and watched Luton vs Stoke (god knows) and it was using BBC Bedfordshire commentary (or whatever Luton’s local radio is called) and they were too busy giving their tactical insights and recommendations and were struggling to name opposition players or ultimately describe the action.
Being up in Chester, BBC Merseyside covers Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere and they’re just as bad.

I think he's like that for all goalkeepers
Goalkeeper's union - it is a vulnerable position to play
A forward can miss 5 chances but if he scores two the others are forgiven
If a keeper commits a howler after 5 brilliant saves we only remember the cock up

I don't know, he seems to have a distaste for Marosi at times. Was it 100% his decision to retire last year? Seems coincidental we bring in a football playing keeper and a football playing keepers coach at the same time.

I've never listened to another local radio commentary so have nothing to compare it to, so Eakin might well be better than others - it doesn't make his incompetence acceptable though. No criticism of Oggy at all, he has been excellent every time I've heard him.

Agree 100%. Mentioned in another thread that I paid for the Radio Stoke commentary for my father-in-law when he came to visit recently. He was listening to that and I was watching our game in iFollow and CWR were miles more professional, insightful and interesting.

I think he has been great to be honest, gives a really good insight having been at the club up until the end of last season.
Knows the game, knows the club and think has been a great addition. Cannot stand Martin Wynch and his post-game questions, it is infuriating.
