Nothing to keep us at St Andrews anymore as our main benefit the originally immaculate pitch wasn’t good against Birmingham in the replay, (brummies’ were starting to complain on their site). It was worse again against Bolton and last night crap – It’s now very bumpy and starting to look bare and patchy in places - Had thought that teams like Bolton and Portsmouth has set up to nullify our passing game as our tactics seemed to have changed the last two games and we have become notably more direct in our play, but I think the bounce on the pitch is starting to affect our style of play - Understand the weather is not great and two teams playing on the pitch, but really surprised how this pitch has so quickly deteriorated

Pitch is better after 40 games than the Ricoh would have been after 14

The pitch has been played on around 10 times since the start of January. So it's lacking in recovery time.

After this weekend no one is playing on it for a week so that should give a bit of time to get the heat lamps out and let it recover.

The Ricoh's pitch is subject to much more damage from scums and so on and arguably lack of maintenance

Do you seriously think we moved to St Andrews just for the pitch. We’re there because Wasps are trying to bankrupt us so we have no other option.

Still far better than the ploghed field at the wasps nest. Have you seen the video of the turf that lifts up. Shocking on top of which if we go back with cap in hand to the wasps we might as well let em run our club and push it over the cliff

I also think the pitch is more muddy than uneven. I seem to remember the Ricoh being greener but with a far more variable bounce

Pitch is fine given the recent weather we've had. Dont forget the ricoh carpet was lifting up a couple of months ago. Add the indemnity clause and its a no from me.

The pitch wasn't really that bad, we had just had a storm the day before.

The Ricoh has been a hell of a lot worse than that.

Yeah St Andrews could be a swimming pool and we’d still be forced to play there due to the indemnity clause

Always a post or two like this after a good win. Just make the short trip to Brum enjoy the football and stop being bitter.

Great win, but do not like going to Brum as the game should have been played in ront of 15,000 to 20,000 in our home city

The condition of the pitch argument is pointless, its pretty obvious that if we share with anyone else at all (rugby, football or any other sport) then the grass gets way too much use during a season to remain in perfect condition for pretty Football. Promotion and our own ground plans actually getting started may make CCFC look more promising to an outside buyer too, that rich guy who just invested in Merc F1 is looking for a English football team to invest in apparently??

Don't bother, he won't listen. The narrative that sisu = bad guys is more important than facts to them.

That isn't to say they aren't bad guys, just that the reason we can't return to the Ricoh is to do with Wasps not them.

yep remember the first leg of the playoff semi and how well the Ricoh coped with that downpour? A crap drainage system might have resulted in the ball getting stuck on the wing and costing us a goal.

yep asked this and the answer appears to be the Eu complaint is a legal act. Well ok then but it can’t be taken back

It's not had an opportunity to recover, but also we're in the worst period post winter. As soon as we get to March/April,they should be able to re-seed and grow some of those 'barer' parts and the pitch will improve again (hopefully!)

I'd argue that the fact we have nowhere else to play is a pretty convincing reason to stay.

Can be appealed though.

Did we ever hear back from Stuart about the whole “forget it” thing?

I think robins is expecting us back next season,Joy has given him her backing is this regarding him wanting us back ? I don’t see it happening anytime soon anyway I just hope it doesn’t come to a position we lose robins over it.
