Why would they liquidate the club? As poor a state as the club is in would it not be worth more as a going concern than selling off any assets which seem pretty much limited to Ryton these days. And of course the value of Ryton is impacted by the council saying redevelopment for housing would not be allowed.

They could sell Ryton to our insect overlords otherwise it has very little value

No way am I a Wasps supporter in any way shape or form. I wish they hadn't bought the Ricoh. in fact I wish I'd never heard of them, but! In the short time they have owned the Ricoh, they have kept their word on everything they said they would do, have they not? What has happened to the "New Stadium" SISU said they are going to build??? A couple of artist impressions have appeared to keep all the a**e lickers happy. How long have SISU got before they pay the Football League the £1m as a default?(Or will that be CCFC) Love to hear your remarks on that one chiefdave.

Bit defensive aren't you! Only asked what was happening as it was being biggged up before they moved here and haven't heard a word about it since.

Not sure they've really kept their word on much to be honest. When questioned about rumours we were being kicked out of our dressing room they claimed to know nothing only to kick us out, they stated they wouldn't play on Saturdays so as not to clash with CRFC yet all next seasons games are on Saturdays. Just a couple of things off the top of my head.

Not really sure how that relates to the FisherDome which pretty much everyone is certain won't ever happen. Unless of course you're saying Wasps are as full of shit as Fisher and there is no chance of this new training ground happening either? What £1m do we owe the FL?

@ chiefdave....Blind or what? Read my post again, only this time properly ok! As for £1m default IIRC is in place if SISU fail to build a stadium within 5 years. Perhaps someone will update that situation.

Wasn't that while we were in Northampton?

That's what I thought, we had to return to what kept being referred to as the Coventry area or face a fine. Although even that still had wriggle room as the FL could use their famous discretion if they felt sufficient progress was being made towards a new stadium.

I'm not sure what rule we would be breaking that would cause us to be fined £1m if we continue to play at the Ricoh.

I think TV coverage is driving the Saturday fixtures rather than Wasps. Time will tell I guess.

Wouldn't you schedule the games as usual and then move them to a Saturday for TV if required? We don't schedule all our games for weird times in case Sky want to show them.

Interestingly Wasps trying to move their games to Saturdays while at Wycombe but their fans objected to the change being made without any consultation. A vote was taken and they were moved back to Sundays. Probably why the fans didn't get consulted this time!

No space to build it! I would guess they will buy the Alan Higgs centre for 50p.

As we already know London Wasps do not care one bit about us, we can build ours at the Joy Bowl

Any idea what's caused the delay? Didn't they originally say they would stay based in London for the remainder of the 2014/15 season and then move?

Firstly, *move not moving!

I think it's to do with the rules of sporting organisations (but might be only rubgy) rather than a decision by Wasps.

Give me two shakes.

This was one of the articles which indicates a three year timeframe -

"Professional Game Board regulations mean Wasps are unable to move their academy to the Coventry area but moves are already afoot to build a new training ground close to the Ricoh with plans to relocate their current Twyford Avenue facility in Acton within three years."

I think you might be referring to their academy not their first team facilities. The academy rules apparently set geographic boundaries that are due for review in several years. However there's no guarantee even then Wasps will be allowed to cover Coventry as I'm sure other local sides will have objections about encroachment on their assigned areas.

That doesn't stop the first team moving which was supposed to be the plan but that seems to have gone completely silent. The last thing I can find is reports from a Wasps supporters meeting just prior to the Ricoh move where they were told plans would be announced imminently (sound familiar?).

The ever deafening sound of silence!

My bad, clearly an arse/elbow situation on my behalf re the academy and training!

Actually, just found this -

"And Wasps are closing in on securing a site for a new Coventry training ground the club hopes to have operational by 2016."

Someone should add "three weeks" to the Urban Dictionary as a "unquantifiable period of time"

they are still talking about these plans when they have had dialogue with local rugby teams. They want training facilities and a hotel in one complex.

With a planed three live games on a Saturday and an extended highlights packages it is looking like all fixtures will have coverage. Only passing on what I have heard......as I said time will tell.

A hotel? A complex? Derek Richardson in one of his rare interviews stated he was totally opposed to them indulging in any form of regeneration or property development.

They only want what is best for the city of Coventry. What you don't realise is that they've already created 1000's of jobs since being here and added 2bn to the local economy.

"Mr Richardson also confirmed that Wasps want to build a state of the art training and academy facility somewhere in the city in the future and hope to be able to provide more information on that towards the end of the year."

it it is not the end of the year yet. Wouldn't building these facilities be property development?
The only quote I have seen from Richardson on property was when they took over The Ricoh and he said he was not a property developer and had never developed anything in his life.

anyway I have only passed on what I have been told. The same person who told me Wasps were moving into the Ricoh. You said that was ridiculous when it was posted.
