For some reason i have lost all sound from any internet page ie(Youtube etc). itunes plays fine aswell as any media stuff but anything through an internet page then nothing.

Any ideas on what to do? I have tried most things as im fairly good on a pc but other than reset all settings and reload drivers etc im not sure what to do.

Nick might be worth asking. I'm really good with problem solving normally but just can't think why this has happened?

Have you tried a different browser?
Have you cleared the cache?
It isn't set to Mute on the browser is it?

Depending on the sound drivers, there may be options for volume levels of websites. Have a look on sound control settings.
Try uninstalling and re-installing the browser.

If you are looking to buy a mac, I know Comet are doing 5% off in the next couple of days and they usually charge the same as the Apple Store so you can get some money off an iMac ;) Let me know if you want to get one and I will speak to my contact at Comet :)

i know its been said and is a simple thing, but if you're on windows 7, click the speaker bottom right and then mixer, i've muted certain programs there before and completely forgot about it!

oh and also, try:

load IE then

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab>Multimedia

make sure the settings are enabled for sounds in web pages

you dont need to re install the drivers when the sound still works with other things? This happened to me with Chrome and i had to clear the cache
