The worst thing about today is the club have shown a lack of ambition. All similar size clubs that have been successful after dropping to this level (like Norwich & Southampton) have kept their best players and built their teams around them. The Maddison deal shows we are clearly happy to be a league one club, or at a push lower championship.

I genuinely thought we'd turned a corner this year. Looks like I was mistaken.

I agree. We all know he was off, but I am sure they could have waited till the May, especially now we know he has gone for a few million.

Maybe this is the right thing to do and get maybe 2 or 3 players in that will enable us to further our ambitions !!!

In fairness both of those teams are larger than Cov. Support at this level significantly better.

Walsall and Gillingham manage to hold onto their prize assets, we're getting triple the gates of those clubs and sell ours.

I think the circumstances when they came down were different though. The bad feeling over the last few years have driven the low gates. Think we were on our way back to being able to pull those crowds but can't see it now.

Potentially more valuable but after around 20 games promise is one thing but we have seen before get the wrong move and sink like a stone

duplicitious, conniving, underhand, with zero football knowledge, whatever the deal is with Norwich, our owners have again shown their true colours,
a slow but sure rebuild was going on in relation to the trust between fans & club, which could have turned into a positive with the missing thousands flocking back,
and lo & behold,
we offload a prize asset for a fee, undisclosed ?
what next ?
the management team show their frustration by finding pastures new ?
& still that Fisher serpent hangs around, Joy have you really sanctioned this foolhardy & shortsighted control behaviour

Disagree. More experienced maybe but not better. For me, I think Maddison would be the more valuable player financially.

Than Dack or Bradshaw? I wouldn't say he was better than them right now so is a gamble. He may well be in 5 / 6 years, he could either be a Wilson or a Bigi. I hope for him it is a Wilson.

Also, let's not forget Burton lost their best player...

We've recently got SEVEN players in (Bigi, Lorentzen, Rose, Ramage, Hunt, Cargill, Stephens)

Only thing that could win me back round is going and picking up a couple of free transfers in the next couple of weeks. Still desperate for a striker.

Anyone who is a free agent won't be fit anyway, finding that out with Ramage and Hunt

Unless they have their contracts terminated at the club by mutual consent. Usually the ones that are then signing for somebody 15 minutes later.

The circumstances are completely different. They weren't down here for nearly as long and had a lot more ambition to get back up than We've ever had

CCFC were in a potential rebuild situation, that has been scuppered by whoever authorised this sale, TM said only days ago that he'd spoken with JM & his learning curve should be with CCFC, so, who authorised this sale ?
i tell you what we'll be kicked off the park at P.Vale with page & his thugs, we're completely without enough muscle & the thought of a team bonding has been shot to pieces

I honestly believed in our owners this year it seemed they had started to look long term but this sale just confirms what they are about.....short term thinking, its bollocks!

Mowbray is going to be absolutely fuming, if he still stands by his last comments on Maddison. A well respected manager like him will know if theres any future for us with our current regime and like Robins did, he may be looking elsewhere.

Not if he gets the cash he won't.

Mowbray now has money to strengthen the defence which is what is going to cost us the play offs, heirs signings last night recognise that.
he still has Maddison so a positive and could help towards the play offs

what more do people want, yes, he has potential, but we all have limits and as said earlier, will he be a Bigi or a Wilson. I expect the former, doesn't have the pace for higher levels, relies on the trickery but that won't cut it at those levels.

You honestly believe TM will get cash to spend on transfers!!! lots of promises, lots of requests more gates more funds.. And guess what more gates and then sell the biggest asset on the stroke of the window closing. Lots of players out of contract come summer, lots of loans and old farts to send away, not sure the deal was enough to be honest.

If we don't get promoted which is looking more likely now who will be left at the end of the season
2 rookie goalkeepers
Stokes Haynes the 2 aarons Willis Loretzon
Vince Lameras
And no strikers

If TM is still here he will have to start another rebuilding exercise with loans, short term contracts etc...

Madders had to go but was unproven and we have cashed in early because as the title says we have no ambition

I'd like to think he'll get some of it but we'll see. My point was, if he does get the money I don't think he'll be bothered Maddison went.

I hope he does get some, but past history shows it will be very little of the total sale price and this will make TM make a decision, stay and fight without trust or jump at the first offer away. I have a feeling TM will feel very let down by certain people he trusted when taking the job but lets see his reaction and how positive he is.

We cashed in early as we weren't prepared to offer him higher wages (ambition) or prepared to let him play more games show the rest of the football world his ability, wanted the cash now just in case he didn't live up to his potential, rather than more money in the summer, a gamble in SiSU's mind.

Season over.

That's what happens when you waste wages on the likes of Cole and Hunt who are past it, instead of offering more to the likes of Maddison who offer more in the short term in terms of minutes, and more potential incoming £££££ in the long term.
