I’ve heard local businesses are gonna have their noses pushed out and it’s big business that Doug wants associated with the ‘brand’.
Should we achieve the level of the brand in question of course.

I don't agree with it but, if we want to compete at the highest level.

The finances in the prem are on another scale. The v top prem clubs would rather not have the fuss of STs and sell out at higher prices for each match.

Even for the remainder, ticket revenue is insignificant compared to TV money and while it’s inconceivable that prices won’t increase (for fewer games) an extortionate increase could be counterproductive if the club wants ST holders to renew again should we ever be back in the EFL.
Just a couple of thoughts, where the hell do these people get their money from and how shit is the atmosphere at their grounds?

That’s true. I was shocked when I found out that Liverpool have only 3k more season ticket holders than us

The likes of Liverpool and United would do
Away with season ticket holders if they could get away with it. They’d rather fill the ground with day trippers who would pay more for tickets and would be likely to spend more in the club shop while there. season ticket holders aren’t good for business when they get in at a reduced rate and spend next to
Nothing on club related products.

Going back to Cov, it will be interesting to see if any sort of membership scheme is brought out - it’s very popular with other clubs, and a good money spinner as fans buy an annual membership in return for first chance of buying tickets, before they get to general sale.

I remember one of the podcasts on about this last year. I think they said when they sell the tickets to tourists they sell them as a package and include a meal, stadium tour and stuff like that and it costs a fortune. So they make a significant amount more money from it.

I seem to recall when talk of Sky showing live football the comment was that clubs could virtually give STs away due to the massive income from TV money.

FFP ruins that though because what you can spend is based on revenue. It’s why no mark academy players go for £20m and fans get ever-squeezed for ticket money.

A problem we’d have over the next 3-5 seasons if we’re to stay up is that every game will be a sell out without a means of expanding that revenue stream without an extension to the ground. Which is way too big a project to take on after only a few seasons of being back up.
