Next years season tickets (31 Viewers)

I think season tickets will go up a bit but not by much. Corporate prices up significantly which is a shame for local businesses who have supported the club through the dark days and probably kept us afloat at times. Maybe the club will find ways for local businesses to be visibly involved in different ways. There is a lot of Premier League money coming out way but we have a lot of catching up to do in terms of our facilities and set-up. If you listen to the Josh Eccles interview on Radio 5 Live he talks about how needed the investment in Ryton was, and our facilities are probably still behind our new competitors. Doug will probably see value in every penny of income first and foremost I think, although that doesn't rule out him deciding to keep season ticket prices as they are or protect the family zone etc.

Club need to be careful though as the current offerings are mediocre at best and would need a significant upgrade in things like food, facilities and atmosphere to justify PL prices.

Also, there will be a lot of people who have been loyally forking out for Hospitality for years that are now priced out and will be forced into the scrum for the few remaining season tickets if they decide to downgrade . Hope the club will reserve them an option somewhere as feels a bit rough.

I think we only have 2 full sized pitches at Ryton which gives some room for rotation, but they'd probably like at least one more. And we don't have an indoor pitch for when the weather's bad. I think they go over to the Academy and kick the kids out of theirs.

Having a chat with a few people where we were trying to guess how much the season tickets will be if we get promoted.

I have the premier league package, so if we are successful in promotion myself and another 4999 fans should get a free one.

does this mean DK will increase the prices a lot to cover the 5000 loss in ST?

my mate doesn’t have one and wondered if anyone has used that V12 finance for paying off each month, does that work okay?

It won’t be 5000 season tickets, it will be more like 3500.

You make a good point as this happened to me and friends 3 years ago where we chose not to renew in the legends lounge . By the time the club had announced the legends lounge prices 12000 season tickets had been sold ! It wasn’t deliberate of course but it was bad planning. There is basic hospitality and upper hospitality as such. In the legends we get a talk from an ex player, access to buy food and drink and a free cuppa. It’s not top end but it is of course more than a standard ticket as such. All we can do is personally hope that we aren’t priced out of it next season but time will tell

Wouldn't surprise me if that's all hedged/insured so little net loss. I am not an accountant...but I took a look at the accounts anyway, no mention of any potential liability whereas liabilities due to transfer agreements are mentioned. Although I guess it's slightly different as it's not a potential debt liability (ie it's an income liability).

Anyway, I'm hoping for a bit under 600 based on other comparable PL prices. As others have said in PL tickets are not the major income component - far better to have a full stadium willing the team to stay up for long term income.

I called it years ago, when the site of Woodlands school was mooted as a potential site for a ground to be built on. Its an absolute dog shit site/space to build a stadium, but would be absolutely perfect for training facilities. A lot of the old school buildings are listed amd can only ever be used for education purposes. So you have a perfect, in-house school and college campus for academy lads. There's enough room to build an indoor pitch, more than enough room to bring the 1st team, the U21s, and all the academy in to one location. Fuck off the Higgs Centre. Sell Ryton for housing and invest that money in to Woodlands school and have a full on Training village like Man City have. Could easily be done with the right people in charge. Doug is certainly the right people. I just need a meeting with him setting up and I can walk him round the school and pitch all my ideas anyone got a direct number for him?

It's a good idea, a very good idea. However I suspect it's much cheaper and quicker to buy the connexion and expand Ryton. My in laws live virtually next door to the connexion and they've heard a few whispers that's it's for sale at the right price
