Never forget the time I used inspect element to edit the club website to say Scott Wootton was signing and they ran the story for 7 hours until I told them it was a joke.

No you didn't, I said we should sign him and now it's been picked up by others. I am the starting point for this rumour.

There's a number of social media pages that have stated we're interested in Graham Carey. I wouldn't take much notice unless interest is actually confirmed / he signs on the dotted line as the majority have about 30 followers and are probably about as reputable as the CT, given how the latter clearly sources its own intel.

This is positive, however I'd be mindful of relying on Cov Live to emphasise your point - no doubt they will get the retained list wrong this summer.

Thomas has changed his twitter profile picture to a picture of him playing for derby. It was him in a cov shirt before. He also removed the on loan from Coventry from his bio so he’s probably off.

I have collated 6,261 individual player ratings on this forum from 46 league game with 28 players starting at least 1 game. The idea was to get at “the wisdom of the crowd” but just as often it shows the “inherent bias of the crowd” – predilection for centre halves, unappreciative of our top scorer. In the end 19 started at least 3 games (excluding those who have been transferred out).

Player of the Year Hyam averaged 6.8 per game, narrowly beating Kelly 6.7 Willis 6.7 Davies 6.6. Nothing in it really

Dud of the year Shipley averaged 5.5 per game (Technically O’Brien (four games) and McCallum (three games) had an average rating less ).

It is easy for central defenders to impress, I suspect. Harder for strikers and full backs

Man of the Match Kelly and Burge were both rated M.o.t.M most often - 7 games each. I’m saying nothing.

Dud of the Match Hiwula was rated Dud of the Match in nine games (four on the bounce at one point). Easy winner

Bayliss Good job he’s not commercially valued by the player raters – 5.9 – 12th best. But it’s why we should take the money. Good but not delivering for League 1

Davies Played 20 games, compared with Hyam 37 Willis and Willis 36. Shows two things – you need three good central defenders in a squad, and Davies had plenty of chance to prove himself

The future: By the season end we had 19 active players. The 8 best were

Hyam 6.8 contract / staying

Kelly 6.7 contract / staying

Willis 6.7 out of contract / leaving

Davies 6.6 leaving

Burge 6.2 out of contract / leaving

Sterling 6.2 loan/leaving

Bright 6.2 loan/staying?

Thomas6.2 loan/leaving

So of our 8 “best” players this season, the likelihood is that only Hyam and Kelly will be staying. We are not as well placed as some think

Individual Performances
Best team performances Wycombe (A) 82.1 Walsall (H) 80.7 Posh (A) 80.7 Barnsley (H) 79.6 S’land (A) 79.4
Worst team performance Blackpool (A) 46.0 Oxford (H) 48.7 Burton (H) 51.7 Blackpool (H) 52.0 S’bury (A) 53.8

Best individual performance Sterling v Southend (H) & Bakayoko v Charlton (A) both 8.8. Kelly & Burge v P’boro (A) 8.6 Burge and Kelly both had four games with a rating of > 8, Willis had three, Sterling had two, Bright, Hyam and one each
Worst individual performance O’Brien & Bakayoko v Blackpool (A) 2.2 & 2.8 respectively. Easily.

Weird fact: Against Shrewsbury away the two ex-Shrews players were voted man and dud of the match. Brown was MotM, Ogogo DotM.

I get what you're saying - its not a normal job. But these guys still have families etc to feed etc in reality just like many of us. A footballers career could be cut short at the blink of an eyelid be it a horror tackle meaning they're finished in football. Unless they've been on the big money before and have a nice pot to retire on then these players knocking around league one / league 2 earning 2k a week need to make as much as they can as quick as they can. They get a solid 15 years career if they're fit enough which doesn't leave long to boost the coffers. Add to that many won't have many transferable skills in the workplace afterwards to get jobs easily. Just another view bot saying you're wrong.

I'm sure on the whole they are all well advised and invest their money appropriately nowadays. If they do that they'll be getting returns on their wages long after retirement.

Our ‘dud of the match’ was our top goal scorer?

Must’ve took you ages to collate all that ‘data’ but unfortunately it’s not very useful.

Yes mate, with the accuracy of your typing, who could doubt the accuracy of your figures !

I remember how Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson scored for fun when we were at Sixfields. Until Clarke got the hump, that is! It was only the admin points deduction that stopped us challenging for promotion that season.

Wouldn’t you want to get a loan to a championship club if Derby would allow and potentially they could get in the prem -his ranking I guess for all to see would be higher in a Derby shirt - shame as I think although he had a lack of finishing skills he was was a tireless chaser !

Cyrus Christie also looked like a decent wingback on the small pitch during that time - was some good football played despite the surroundings

I always wonder was Leon a good Striker or did he just wonder up the pitch and tap in after Wilsons hard work?
