As fans what are you prepared to except next season?

Rebuild the club (again) and hope that we fluke promotion?

Or

Go out all guns blazing, spend beyond our means to try and take the 'win at all costs' mentality to a new extreme, disregarding ffp (apparently player bonuses are not included in ffp) hoping the fl win not punish us with whatever punishment they see fit

Obviously this depends on a take over happening if were stuck with sisu it will be another year of misery

I'm taking nothing short of winning the league we've got nothing to fear in this league. If we had cut out half the silly points dropped we would have been 6 points clear. We're gonna win the league.

That's exactly what 98% of the users here said at the beginning of this season...
I say will be fighting for a playoff place.

If we get this takeover done before the season starts and we get the right players I can't see why we can't make a charge for the top spot but if we're stuck with these muppet then I am afraid to say we will be mid-table at the most.

I thought we'd finish minimum top 6 this season. Definetly have got egg on my face now......

As for next year I guarantee a top 6 finish ;)

If we spend all our money in one go, we're back to the SISU days. We need to buy half the Ricoh so we have a stable future, spend wisely on the squad. Bring up some talent from the Academy but bring in some new first team stars that can make a real differance. We also need some depth in the squad and we need to get some shit out of here. Around £8 million is needed to sort the squad out at least. I think we can go up next season if we focus on whats happening on the pitch and with some wise investments in the squad, but i would be annoyed if we get anything less than the Play-Offs and Semi-Finals of the JPT. If we dont get out of this league next year, we might not ever get out

Yep, agree with that. And no we can't disregard the FFP and go gung ho on spending. In fact we should never do that again, Richardson taking a 'punt' is one of the reasons we're in this mess.

£8m???? We'll definitely be over the FFP.

8 million, in league 1!!! U could build 2 teams for that. 2 million SHOULD be enough, even then I think it won't take that much!

We must aim for top 6, should a new owner come in I think he will demand this from Pressley. JPT area Final would be nice again and build a squad using about 2 Mil, this should make us competitive easily within League One..

Also depends on who comes down from the championship. Bristol City don't worry me, but that group above them all look stronger than us if relegated. So that'd be 2 places potentially gone. I know it doesn't always work out like that, but a fair few of them are financially stable.

I'd also like to see the back of Donny, Shef Utd, Swindon or Bournemouth cause they'll probably all be strong next season.

Still - regardless of all that, if we're in a position to act like a normal feckin club, we should be challenging for automatic. No excuses.

We won't be able to spend £2m if we don't have access to half the revenue streams, we've already got to trim the wage bill to meet FFP.

Our squad isnt big enough anyway, hardly any depth in it. Now we are on about releaseing 10 1st team players at the end of the season, so we'll need a shit load of new talent, and good talent doesnt come cheap

Bit premature this thread but definitely not go all out that's how you ruin your club we should build slowly make sure we get players that can help the club now and in the future and sort out off field issues. Rebuild the club and if we go up we go up if not the season after we would be mounting a challenge for first. The club will be hopefully stable by then allowing for full concentration on the footballing side of things

We're not realising anywhere near 10 first team players only wood sheffers and Cameron are real first teamers leaving. With ball and bailey returning to derby and Martin to Southampton, Wilson will be offered a new deal probably. Everyone else out of contract isn't in the first team

Where's the £8m coming from? And does that include wages? And how does this fit in with FFP?

It's not fifa you know 8 million is ridiculous. Even if we were allowed to spend that much which we aren't. We shouldn't. There are a lot of good players on frees and we should only spend about 250-500k on a transfer no more.

We need:
2 more cm's- one like Doyle and one like gunner. (One on a free most likely and then look at other league 1 teams and league 2 for other.)
2 strikers- one big lad, one who's quick and a poacher (one on loan from prem club and the other you will have to buy as they aren't easy to get cheap so 500k on a good striker)
3 cb's- with wood,Martin,Cameron and malaga(hopefully) leaving (could get these on a free with ease and maybe buy one for about 300-400k)
1 lb- cover for Adams could even be Stewart ( on a free or on loan)
1 lw- sheffers is leaving so need a new one (don't come cheap so another 400k there)
So spend about 1.3 million at max going by the top of price range

Well the budget this season was supposed to be above £4M, so let us assume it is cut by 25-30%, so say £3M.

I don't think transfer fees are needed, well maybe 250K tops.

The key is the salaries, according to stats I found the average L1 salary was ~£75K then a £3M budget gets you 40 average players, Or more likely a mix of 20 excellent/good players (at this level) and some younger prospects.

Remember Wood & McSheff will be off the payroll, they are on big salaries..if they stay they will not be on such big contracts.

All in all, there is no reason why CCFC should not be a top six club, despite the lack of income from F&B etc.. (which is frankly not a huge percentage of the existing income, maybe 10% tops).

Unfortunately we're not building an entirely new squad from scratch, and although the loss of two higher earners will make some difference, it's going to take quite a bit of wheeling and dealing to balance the books.

Swindon won't be strong, they've been able to overspend this year as FFP does not come into account if you are promoted. Next year it will kick in and they'll struggle as they have no income.

No, but there is a good core already.. my worry is more along the lines of SISU sensing the end game will flog the best young prospects (Jordan Clarke, Cyrus Christie, Connor Thomas) before they feck off.. they've already shipped Nathan Cameron to Northampton.. a sign of things to come?

Could really see that happening, which makes me feel slightly sick! Wish the transfer embargo worked both ways.....

I'm hoping fo stability with new owners but expect to have 15pts deduction as SISU won't let go, so another season wasted. I'm hoping I'm right on the first part and wrong on the second.

Think i could build a promotion squad and not spend a penny in transfer fees, there will be plenty of quality players about on free transfers, but you have to pay the going rate wages wise to get them
