Next season players budget (1 Viewer)

Looks like AT has same budget as AB had last year. If this is true I don't think that would be to bad. Obviously the outcome will depend on if any of the out of contract players re-sign. The only other player I think we shoul have released to free up wages would be Eastwood.

trips off the tongue doesnt it ............. same budget as last year.......... well that was nil in January, and last summer only players to cost were Plat and Jutkievicz i think £50k and £1m from reports. Juke being paid for out of the transfers of Dann Fox and Best.

No such sales to fund transfers this year...... SISU unlikely to add any funds to do it ......... so what they are saying is that to bring players in we have to play with the make up of the players wages budget. Now dont get me wrong I think AT is better placed than most to do this, certainly better than AB, but dont expect much in the way of bought transfers..... it will be almost all on free and out of contract

Totally agree about letting Eastwood go..... only reason he isnt is because no one else would pay him the same salary so we are stuck with him........ he can turn any transfer down

The reason Eastwood isn't going is cos if Marlon goes (highly likely) them all we've got left is juke. Let's be realistic we ain't gonna attract much better than freddy next season. He's got the ability let's hope AT can get the best out of him.

thing that bothers me is that the worst attitude i have seen from Eastwood was during the games AT was in charge. That does not bode well for the future. He came on the other week and it was obvious to all he really couldnt be bothered.

He might pick up his game but lets be totally honest whatever his position he has played the biggest gripe city fans have about him is his attitude and application games. Everyone knows he has ability its how often he uses it thats the problem. Thats been the same for 3 years why should it change now especially when as it stands he has no competition for his place.

If you read what AT said he was very clear that he will give him a chance but he has to produce it, otherwise he isnt going to be playing. As it stands he is a choice as striker but my guess is AT will bring in a couple of players that will give Eastwood real competition for his place. Dont think Eastwood reacts well to being second choice.

My worry is that we have a player who because of his attitude here and at Wolves we would find hard to sell, (who would meet his pay demands after 4 years of under achieving under 4+ managers) That at a time we are short of funds end up paying out wages for not a lot in return as has happened over the last 3 years. Then he leaves for free next summer - we will have paid another years wages for nothing unless he changes. He has to be one of the top earners and over three years showing the odd flash of real ability is pretty poor return even taking into account injuries and so called playing in wrong position! Hope i am wrong because everyone will happy if Eastwood finally comes good - but i am not holding my breath - think we are stuck with him simply because i dont think we can get rid not because we need cover for King going and that is a poor situation to be in.

I keep reading he has ability - where is it?

Al I've seen is a decent first touch. Apart from attitude and application it takes more than that. He is not even teh natural finisher taht many seem to tag him with. His finishing was at a lower level and about five years ago now - since then hardly waht you would call prolific.

I think we have given him more than enough chances. I hope he proves me wrong but he's a complete fraud imo who has been over-hyped, over-rated and overpaid

I agree cc4l ...... just dont think there is such a capital budget for purchases without sales of players (dont want to lose the players that might be saleable to do it)..........think it will all be done playing around with the wages budget. If they do purchase then to pay for it they will have to squeeze the wages budget with obvious implications for size and quality of squad. If we lose King Westwood etc then that probably gives us a little room for movement ...... Carsley and co going has done that also

Do you see SISU putting lots of money in ? Nor me. We are still making losses which for the next 10 weeks or so will be bigger than the average because there is no football income in June & July.

It isnt a pop at CCFC as such just want people to understand how they are probably working it and what that means. The survival of the club is foremost and anything they can provide extra for the transfers is welcome. The club are obviously not going to come out and say it ...... but this is the same as under RR and I warned then to listen to the words carefully dont think i was wrong as it turned out.

thats the point cc4l they didnt lie as such ............ everyone made big assumptions and didnt listen to what was actually said. Last season they said there would be money available for transfers which everyone latched on to and ignored the comments about the money coming from savings by not renewing contracts. In reality there was no new money from SISU for signings. Dont expect there to be new money this year, the finances dont indicate it will be likely under SISU.

The board past and present are very careful with what they say..... they have to be. Not sure many journalists or supporters are quite so careful with what they hear.

Happy to be wrong on Eastwood..... at the moment I dont see it, even AT has hedged his bets on him. This will be the 4th season we have been hoping he will come good..... not many players get that sort of chance. King did better than I thought he would certainly, clearly more ability than the rest of the squad, hasnt changed my opinion of the man though

But thats all this is here ...... my opinion

Freddy and King are totally two different subjects !!!!
Freddy has done nothing in one season for Wolves and three seasons for us because he is lazy sulks and can't be bothered. I would show him the door because he is a drain on our wages budget. Saying that it would not surprize me one bit if he like a lot of players in his bracket come good in the final season of their contract. But to me even if he does I wouldn't offer him a further contract.
As for King that was a gamble signing and all those people moaning that we should have offered two years in hind sight yes that would have been a good shout. We don't know why it didn't happen get over it he's gone !!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe Eastwood nor any player can't be bothered, it seems a fairly easy way to excuse a lack of either quality or consistency in his play.
