I would hope we could collect 9 again in this group of 5. Anything above that would be outstanding return and a great start to the season.

Blackburn - Home win.

15-0

Wright (9), Torp (2), BTA (2), Sakamoto (1), Rushworth (1).

EFL decide there’s no point carrying on with the rest of the season, declare us champions, Sheffield united get relegated and Leicester get a 100 point deduction and go down too. Everyone else just stays the same.

10 so far with one yet to play. To be fair, most of the projections not bad. Castellon favourite to win at this point.

I don’t think we’ve topped the table of this league in October since 2001

We led for 2 days in October 2001, but only because Wolves were playing a few days later (so had a game in hand)

This is the first time we’ve led the table properly at this level since 1967

I want to say we did again in November 2001 after beating…Sheffield Wednesday

That horrific run of form at the end of that season which took us from the top 6 into mid table was pretty tough to take.

Even at the time though had a horrible feeling of inevitability about it

Madness is the fact that you have to think if we tick for 90 and score all our chances we will hit double figures

I remember reading an interview with Kenny Dalgiesh about the success of of the Liverpool team back in the day

The theory they had was get to 40 points as soon as possible and go from there .
Glad we got to the international break with no further injuries

Little bit of investment in the new year and keep MVE and Wright till the window closes and it’s all systems go
