I was just looking at the teams outside current top 2 that pose the most threat to overtaking us, I've consistently thought we will need 90 for top spot and 87 will likely be enough for auto promotion.
To give a flavour of the wildly different path this could take from now. This time last season Sunderland and Burnley were on the same number of points and finished 24 points apart!

I don’t think we’ll do a Sunderland, but can’t see us matching Burnley either given our defensive frailties. For the middle ground, look at Sheff Utd who achieved 28 points from their last 16. It wasn’t good enough for them, but would very likely secure us 2nd spot.

Was Lampard our manager when we played the Baggies last season or was it one of MRs last games? All I remember was it being a Friday night and the Brum Xmas markets had just opened and we put in our usual meek Hawthorns performance

Frank has broke a few hoodoos since he got here let's hope WBA is another one

His first away game was Millwall which we won

Just checked 3rd game in charge and his first defeat

As I said seemed to remember it being one of MRs last or Lampard's first

I remember the performance vividly - I was convinced we were in for a relegation battle over that Nov/Dec/Early Jan spell last season

Yes, I think mid 80's gives us a realistic chance, 90 I think will almost certainly be enough.
Our run in gives us a great chance, it's all according whether FL can address our recent frailties, we should soon find that out.

Boro will tear us to pieces, narrow defeat at a dreadful West Brom, torn apart at Sheff Utd then should see off Stoke. I can’t see any better than that, we are not getting out of this rut as the manager refuses to adapt and the players look devoid of confidence and energy.
Looks like this was the optimistic prediction.

There is no bloody chance. Problem is that back at the turn of the year whilst we looked ropey we only needed lower end play off form to make it. Now with lead virtually eradicated we need more like top 3 form to get there, and we are playing like bottom 6. I'm struggling to see anything that suggests we are about to reverse that

Our last 5 ppg is 1.4
Boro ppg is 3
Ipswich is 2

In our current block of 5

We’ve collected 1 point. We need to get up to 2ppg which means we need to win 3 out of the next 4 games.

Boro h
WBA a
SU a
Stoke h
