Last week's episode was a bit of a disappointment I felt, but I think this final episode tonight was excellent.

I see there is talk of a season 2.

Bring it on.

if it's set up for another series there's definitely a question needs answering - why?!

Struggled a bit with the wife on the Capture ! But too deep

However thought the Confession was excellent - well written and interesting - good acting - made the senior Wiltshire Police look stupid as they were not backing their man - didn’t read any reviews or stories on Halliwell while it was on but when I now look he was an evil guy - and Joe Absolom did a great job of looking evil

Funny that, because while I did enjoy it, I thought it was padded out to death and could easily just have been 4 episodes instead of 6.

I loved that the Capture was so deep and you had to work out what was going on.

Great music soundtrack to it too.

Still got the last Capture to watch - need something else now but not Netflix we don’t have that - missed the first Motherland of the new series - I know it’s comedy rather than drama but very well written

Shame you don't have Netflix. I am salivating at the thought of El Camino tomorrow.

The last episode of the Capture I thought was most excellent.

I started watching Dublin murders earlier
I won’t give any spoilers but it’s about some murders in Dublin
Very good cast including Killian scott Tom Vaughn Lawlor ( both from a fantastic Irish drama called Love/hate) and Conleth Hill
First 2 episodes are in bbc iplayer

It's not new but I finished Better Call Saul Season 4 last night and think it's developed into a really accomplished clever TV show.

When it originally aired I gave up on it at the start of season 2 because I was expecting something more or less like Breaking Bad. I went back last week and have binged the whole lot and fell in love with the slower pace and the fleshed out character development. The return of some of BB's big characters has helped ramp up the drama too.

I can't wait for season 5.

Great show. I actually prefer Mike's thread of the story to Jimmys

Yeah I very much agree. Mike carries most of the intrigue and intensity.

I find Jimmy and Kim's relationship very odd. I don’t know if it's the actor's faults or intentional but there seems to be no chemistry between them and any moments of passion are fleeting.

I love Chuck though. Michael McKean plays him so well and there's always a hint of comedy in his performance. I'd happily watch a show just about him.

For me Better Call Saul has overtaken Breaking Bad, which I love but it was a bit too breakneck and went mad in the last season. BCS has a much slower pace and yet doesn't waste a second.

Totally agree on the Jimmy and Kim thing. I love the show, but I have never been able to accept the two of them as an item. It's just not a good fit and the on-screen romance lacks chemistry.

Sometimes throughout the show I had to ask myself if they were even lovers and then they'd very occasionally jump into bed and that's nearly always after they've just done someone over.

Maybe it is deliberate because they've never discussed marriage or kids or even said I love you on screen. Maybe they're just together because they're so similar and it's convenient and next season it'll all go to shit?

It's definitely an odd one and something I always find a bit jarring. I'm not overly keen on Kim full stop. She spends 90% of the time looking like she's just smelled a fart and the other 10% looking inscrutable.

I would have laughed hysterically at such a statement a few weeks ago but now I'm far more open to the idea that Better Call Saul is superior. I don't think it is overall but in certain aspects it certainly has.

Breaking Bad could and probably should have stretched the story out a little longer. It was only 5 seasons and crammed a lot in whereas BCS very carefully plots every detail and reasons for characters changing. Even Hector's story is beautifully played out and we see Gus's cruel side exposed through many episodes. I found myself laughing hysterically even at the smallest glances made by characters. It's all in the detail.

Saying that BB had so many great characters, brilliant writing and classic scenes that it will always outshine BCS for me but I try to see them as one and the same. They blend perfectly together as one piece.

Over the last 3 weeks just binge watched all of Black Sails. Brilliant series with some great characters. The sailing ship details are amazing. Get your eye patch and cutlass out!

I binged the whole lot the other night because it's only 4 hours in total.

I enjoyed it but it left me feeling a bit empty. There's no real pay off and they could have went down so many different interesting avenues. Aisling Bea is also quite unlikeable I find. If it wasn't for Paul Rudd it would be like a mediocre episode of Black Mirror. He carries the whole thing with his charisma alone.

6/10 for me.

Yes, I did find Aisling Bea's character a bit annoying and lacking in depth.

I have two episodes to go still.

First episode last night, very good.

Like that they're doing something different with it, the film strangely left me feeling uninvolved as was too faithful(with the the central storyline) of the superb graphic novel.

Damon Lindelof involved, do bodes well, responsible for the criminally underwatched, but even in these days of stellar television, best series of the last few years in The Leftovers.

The Righteous Gemstones is a new comedy from the same people who made Eastbound & Down / Vice Principals. It's about a mega rich Christian televangelist family who struggle to function after the death of their mother. It's really well made which is to be expected from HBO. The comedy is undercut with moments of sadness. I thought it would be an out and out piss take on Christians but it's not.

Well worth a watch.

Are you referring to the "not taking the piss out of Christianity" bit?

Well they do show the family as being money grabbing and using Jesus as an excuse at every turn but it's just not spread too thick. The characters are mostly all lunatics so the faith part takes a back seat but it's by no means pro religion.

Is anyone out there watching Dublin Murders and finding it hard going ? I am . Bloody confused and to make matters worse I can't understand much of what the main police lady is saying.

It seems to me they deliberately set out to give you little bits of information that they know full well will make absolutely sense whatsoever but you hope that all will become clear in the following episode and it doesn't quite work. Last nights episode had a fatal car crash and a girl appearing out of nowhere from the woods who then pulled all the wallpaper of the main police woman's bedroom wall but oh no she didn't really exist, yes she did, no she didn't.
And I know it will all be clear by the last episode but it's giving me a headache.

Everything you've written there applies equally to the first episode of "Watchmen".

I was going to give this a bash but I've not heard one good word about it. Sounds like the BBC have really screwed up with it.
