All 3 of sites chosen were non-starters, can you imagine 15,000 fans trying to get to those sites - just utter nonsense and no chance of a retail partner either as all those sites are close to new major retailing developments but what amazes more is fans on here like Grendel continuing to snipe at fellow fans whilst the topic is clearly about SISU. Grendel can't defend SISU on this but can sure have a personal snipe. Lets stick to discussing Fisher the property developer

I take Ms Garlick to mean that a land deal announcement is still coming. The details of these FAILED sites are being released in the meanwhile, to (very belatedly) demonstrate that other attempts have been made over the last couple of years.

Unfortunately the 3 sites mentioned appear to have been pointless exercises, and could have been ruled out with minimal effort I would have thought. For a start, aren’t a couple of them way below the size that Fisher said he was looking for? And I’d love to know how much they bid for the land at Ryton that went for £650,000 per acre.

All three are on the east side, with no mention of the Warwick University area which has been rumoured in the past. Big problems with Green belt and access, but the Local Plan is still being worked on and the HS2 line is coming, so maybe you can’t rule anything out. There’s a possible new road on the north west side of the city which would open up development land – but then you are getting so close to the Ricoh that it just highlights how barmy the idea of a second stadium is anyway.

My fear is that by mentioning these sites around the city boundary, they are showing that they tried hard to find somewhere nearby – and softening people up for a site further away. In that case, the PR boys will have some hard work to do.

Interesting point, no mention of Warwick Uni or Bermuda Park, could those be the two sites still being pursued (with the disclaimer that most likely absolutely nothing is happening)?

Tweet From CCFC Stadium Forum Group Chair

According to tweets from the CCFC Stadium Group, chaired by Sandra Garlick, Coventry City Chairman Tim Fisher has been saying that the building of a new stadium could take place within 9-18 months if a land deal can be done.

If looks increasingly unlikely that there is any suitable land available in Coventry on which to build a stadium with Garlick tweeting: "Cllr Kevin Maton also made it clear that in his personal opinion there was nowhere within the Coventry boundary suitable at this present time."

Tweeting about the new stadium, Garlick tweeted: "Fisher said if CCFC can do a land deal within the next 3 months, then they would look to build within 9-18 months, subject to the usual planning and construction challenges. The planning application could be straightforward or painful."

Are we saying that if, if, the stadium goes ahead it will be built on the 4th or 5th choice site? The whole thing is being done for the wrong reasons. If you want to build a stadium you first select a site which would suit a stadium. Here we are looking at a site, any site because we have burnt our boats in Coventry and there are few options. We have to take anything that's offered or eat humble pie ( which we won't do ). So, I think that the project will not work if it ever goes ahead because it has not been properly though through. It is spite, anger, frustration and not clear thinking.

Plan A was always the Ricoh. Plan B was the Ricoh. There is no Plan C
The only way forward for CCFC is to sell to Wasps (may happen in two years time ) or buy a share of the Ricoh from Wasps ( not going to happen)

I know the Wasps hierarchy very well and am extremely impressed with their vision for Wasps. I have met Fisher once and was completely unimpressed. Mind you he is a puppet for SISU and does what he is told ( if you believe recent rumours if is "did what he was told" as he is on garden leave ) SISU have no intention of spending any capital, equity or other funds on CCFC other than maintaining the operation in a limbo situation,prior to selling.

I view this site daily and have been a season ticket holder for 30 years ( not last two years) and read RFU comments. He writes as if he has inside knowledge, so I am interested if he still believes we will build a stadium and when. Simple Yes or No. Shouldn't be hard.

He doesn't have inside knowledge I don't think, he just presents everything that Fisher, Waggot and Sepalla say as 100% fact. Like when Fisher says new stadium progressing or news to come in the new year he just uses these quotes as 100% fact that its real and happening whenever anyone expresses any scepticisim about the stadium.

The planning process will certainly be painful. Wherever they plan to build a new stadium, there will be all sorts of objections from residents and locals, relating to parking, environmental issues and anything else you can think of. It is likely that such a major project could result in a full planning enquiry which will string it out for ever. It could easily be two years or more between submitting plans and actually starting work. If a land deal was concluded tomorrow, the earliest the first game could take place would be for the 2018-19 season.

This is all hypothesis, of course. We all know it will never happen. So no point in worrying about it really. Or does anyone actually believe it will be built?

You only have to look at AFC Wimbledon's proposed new ground to realise that. And that's going to be built on the site of an existing stadium.

No mention of CCC virtually giving it away £2:7m, oh sorry I forgot they also managed to ditch their £14m loan on them as well (with a reduced payment term, 20yrs instead of 43yrs).! Nice move.

I don't know for sure but from my information is YES.

Is it just me, or are you making two completely contradictory arguments in the same sentence? CCC both gave the stadium away and made a killing – is that right?

What happens if Wasps default on it over the next 20yrs? (bearing in mind of course they have a 250yr lease).

Almost certainly Acl would lose the lease and it would return to ccc.

if wasps can't pay off 14 million plus interest over 40 years then they don't deserve to be running a chip van let alone an arena. the loan is until 2053.

I think both CCC and Wasps have achieved their aims. If Mr Fisher had not pissed off all concerned at CCC then CCFC/SISU could now be the landlord on the same deal. In life and business you eventually reap what you sow.
I do not believe that SISU have any intention to build a new ground. For a start it does not make commercial sense. With the Ricoh already established, the NEC up the road and the cost and time involved they would be crazy.
Without real investment in the team and a return to the Championship they cannot even borrow the money assuming they had the desire, which I cannot believe

Guess you can't read (or maybe miss understood) ACL had 40yrs but the deal with Wasps is ONLY 20yrs.
