Actually, with the liquidation and "more interested in results on the pitch" comments-not to mention her cold, formal use of "Fisher", I think I've warmed to her quite a bit after reading that!

Tbh if there really was an open and frank discussion with Fisher and Cllr Maton present to answer questions, then that actually sounds like a potentially productive meeting for once.

Also some hope that club and council can at least share the same room(!)

We could always be the first, we used to have the reputation as a pioneering club, why not?

The thing that doesn't ring true about those three sites, well at least two of them anyway, is that they would have been ruled out a long time again. Yet the notion that we would have an announcement sometime soon was only put forward at the end of last year.

Have they just pulled out the only sites they've ever expressed the slightest bit of interest in and put those forward as they might get a positive response if the Telegraph starts asking questions?

2. Ansty. The club also enquired with Rugby Council about this 100+ acre site which is 4 miles from Earl Street. Despite the potential suitability of the site itself, it was not possible to get a highways solution due to access issues with an adjoining site.

3. Ryton – 23 acres (net) – again a meeting with Rugby Council. Despite some highway issues there was a relatively straightforward solution with a spur off the A46. The subsequent sale process saw Prologis successfully close the land deal with a bid of £650,000 per acre.

Fishers comments of "there has been a big forward leap on the ground site acquisition" was as said on the day of Wasps first home game.
it was obviously a false statement put out to try and take some gloss off the occasion . It was juvenile and petty and complete bullshit

Didn't RFC lap it up though? Then use it as "in the know"?

Yes, you're right, Nuts.
And yet the idea that Sisu can't think straight because of "hubris" which is destroying the club has no credibility.
You're not at the races are you or just having an off day?

because one thing the last few years have shown is the inability of ccfc fans to find or unite behind any sort of effective strategy to address all the issues surrounding the club. our pioneering days were primarily driven by one man - jimmy hill. don't see another jimmy out there.

It’s at least a good thing that these details are now coming out. What’s utterly baffling is that this information could surely have been released as soon as each site turned into a failure, saving an awful lot of ridicule and reputational damage. Have the new PR guys had a word in Mr. Fisher’s ear?

For what it’s worth, none of the 3 sites seem close to being realistic. But since Rugby Borough Council were involved in all 3 cases, no doubt they’ll confirm that a lot of hard work was put in (despite the unwanted distraction of the JR).

Well RBC have nothing to hide now, so the SBT should make a FOI request to check the details and ask when these meetings took place.

So these are three sites we are NOT going to buy, which is interesting - but what about the actual location which we are still told is coming.

I notice that Cllr Maton was mentioned – isn’t he on the City Council? It would indeed be a pleasant surprise if a site could be found “in town”. For me, the nightmare would be a contentious site which will never get permission (thus condemning us to more politics for years to come), or somewhere closer to another town than Coventry (which would count many fans out I think).

And the ideal outcome? That's still buying into the Ricoh, because (as I think even Joy said) building a second stadium is ridiculous.

never happen. ccc will never sell to a sisu property company and sisu are never going to buy it as a football club.

And with no sustainable future possible how can any of us embrace the club? Sisu are toxic, they have ruined a club and until they go that cannot change.

I meant CCFC buying rights to revenues from Wasps or (better) somebody else bringing the two clubs and the stadium together.

Brilliant 3 sites they never had a hope of getting what a waste of time that was, what is option 4 the moon as there is much chance of them building there as any of the previous 3.

Surely even Joyless must think that Fisher is stealing a living now.

Looking at Twitter Maton's role at the meeting seemed to be to inform the SCG that the Hollbrooks site he had suggested to Simon Gilbert recently was actually a non starter as there was no chance of getting planning permission so a lot of help that was

Any alternative suggestions?

It'd be nice if CCC actually tried calling CCFC's bluff and helped move this on to endgame.

Still encouraging two 'players' can share a room though. May be grasping at straws, but at least it puts them in the position to see if they can happen upon common ground.

Shame they both seem bloody useless, mind!

I think from a financial point of view that would be the best solution, either for CCFC to buy into ACL or to have both clubs under the same ownership, seems unlikely though. Even if SISU left now I don't think a new owner would be able to turn us around. We may see a slight bounce initially in attendances but without revenue streams we will continue to struggle at around our current level. The damage done has become almost irreparable

What CCC helping a football club gosh no.

Sisu would then be able to take them to court for helping a sports club and not helping a hedgefund.

After all it is Sisu taking the everyone to court and not the Football Club?????

What a fiasco. TF threw the keys on the table, took the club to Northampton, points were deducted because the two sides couldn't come to an arrangement, it was announced that we are building our own stadium etc. ( site details in 3 weeks ) and now it's been confirmed that we never had a chance of a site ( we didn't get past the first stage of getting one ) and because Coventry is surrounded by a green belt we probably never will. Is this how hard nosed business people work? Most people on here wouldn't storm out of their home and sue the landlord before they had arranged alternative accommodation for their family or had at least checked out the housing market in the area. It is quite frankly appalling and if TF didn't look a prat before, he certainly does now.

One of your sidekicks doesn't go to games but is always first in the queue to insult people that do go. Why is it you never even say boo to him?

It is 'fans' like you that cause so much unrest and disruption amongst ourselves.

The whole thing is a joke
RFC. Still waiting your comment from my previous post
in my opinion the whole thing is a smokescreen
Plan A was always the Ricoh. Plan B was the Ricoh. There is no Plan C
The only way forward for CCFC is to sell to Wasps (may happen in two years time ) or buy a share of the Ricoh from Wasps ( not going to happen)

If we're not to look at the past, then there's no reason for fans not to turn up.
