There will be no new stadium !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say I had some 'hope' that there might be a new one but considering this news this morning now I am starting to believe there won't be this specific land would be fantastic for a new Football stadium had it been pursued properly.
Why would it? It's not in Coventry....
The company I work for announced this morning that they're building a new head office and multi-purpose site in Ryton. Looking at the site which is just off the A45 between the London Road and the Oxford Road, I am wondering if the land they've acquired could have been fit to build a new stadium?
No point repeating myself Robbo.
There are a load of warehouses going up there as we speak, using up the remaining land.
Add in lack of leisure facilities, and lack of space to build leisure facilities (unless somebody fancies doing up the Bull and Butcher!) it's a no-goer, and was always going to be.
It's half a mile more than the Ricoh..
Which in itself leads to an interesting question about identity really, as to me Ryton sure as hell ain't Coventry!
Then again, to me, nor is where the Ricoh is(!)
Perhaps they should stick a ground up in Binley Village.
The things is realistically should we not return to the Ricoh for any reason and Sisu are forced to build a new ground what chances are there of them finding a site which is four miles or closer?
A 25000 stadium near the city centre, 4 unique stands, an abudance of pubs and takeaways nearby, why oh why was Highfield Rd bulldozed, just wish the Rugby club had bought it and we could of ground shared with them
Ryton would probably be close enough for me for this mysterious hypothetical stadium of magic dust. I don't remember ever crossing that shitty roundabout and suddenly feeling like I'd stepped into another realm.

All that lovely flat land there .Would have made a perfect Airport ,yet the Gov't were looking at Lawford ,Like HS2 always looking In the wrong Place.
Can't believe people getting excited about a new stadium that will be initially be L2 standard.

But could you imagine thousands (alright maybe hundreds) trying to cross at the same time to get to a football match. It will be absolute mayhem and with more business sprouting up meaning more traffic. Not that I think for one second that Legoland will be built there or anywhere else for that matter.

If a new stadium is to be built it has to be in Coventry pref within 2 miles of city centre, the whole point of match days is crappy old pubs you would not normally go in or street corner chippys, having a stadium even more inaccessable than the RICOH will be another white elephant.

That happens everywhere...75k at Old Trafford, roads are closed for the fans to disperse quickly & safely.
